It's been a week since Leaflit released her AI Vtuber slop. How's the industry changed?
>>113445749Literally who OP?
>>113445842Some political vtuber made a program that makes AI vtuber models and a bunch of other political vtubers are using it. That's pretty much about it.
>>113445894This hobby should've been gatekept better
>>113445894I've followed them for a while, and it's been fascinating to see someone who was soft conservative become full chudtuber grifterThey constantly try to punch down and dogpile people on twitter, every time she gets any friction or pushback she doubles down and gets even chuddier
>>113445749Does she not know how dog shit AI art looks?
>>113447134AI is based, seething luddite. You lost tranny.
>>113447134"pick up a pencil" I'm sure whatever you create will look soooooo much better than a fully rendered and coloured AI imageno? Then stop calling it bad if you can't do any better.
>>113445749not at all, now if it was tool to make a model completely with ai art, rigging and all then it would be a lot since that process while the art part can be like 95% cheated there's still a lot of manual work needed both putting it together and with rigging.
>>113445894not really making models, its just generating a mostly looped animation with no real tracking that i saw in her video at least besides rough switches between generated animation loops.
the tool itself looks like it's basically just more evolved pngtubing. there's no rigging involved since all the movement is pre-animated rather than tracked. you could probably throw in hand-made animations and the anti-AI twitter mob wouldn't see a single problem with it, but it would take a lot longer to make an animation for every expression and gimmick.having built-in AI generated animation speeds up the process but it annoys me how the character she uses to demonstrate can't even stay consistent. the eye color and saturation on the clothes keep changing and the jitteriness from swapping between animations is jarring. that's the kind of stuff the user would need to fine-tune I suppose.
>>113447321Knowing leaflet she never intended for this to seriously be used, just to cheaply "own" some artists and score some victim complex points because people will inevitably hate it.
>>113447395This reminds me of her AI generated tabletop game. Like who would even play that shit? Has anyone look at it even once after she made it?
>>113447476how does the AI tabletop game differ from a regular tabletop game
>>113447509Balancing and theme. Her AI tabletop game was horribly balanced and its setting looked like a mishmash of all sorts of settings. It generally didn't look like it was thought through at all. Same thing with AI generated videos desu, you can just tell when something feels AI.
>>113445749She released the alpha version 9 hours ago not a week ago lol.
>>113445749We need to bring back bullying in school so kids like this kill themselves
>>113447395she actually made this for a friend with no money and a pc too weak for a normal model.
she's live now so I checked in the stream to see it in action. it's basically just a fancier fugi, so nothing totally new.
>>113445749Pathetic.
>>113447106>muh punch down>reddit spacingFuck off troon
if her AI tools are so great, why does she still use a normal non-AI live2D model?
>>113447134These days it's "good enough" and that's all that matters to the average brainlet
>>113447774because it's not meant to replace live2d models? It's a bridge between a png and a real model. For free.
>>113447819it's shitfor free
>>113447826then just use a png. No one is forcing you to use it if you don't like it.

>>113448040none as its pretty shit since everything it does is supper jarring after seeing it with someone using it for like 10 seconds.
>>113448075This is the worst it will ever be. Technology only gets better.
>>113448075you could have said the same thing about plain old AI image gen a few years ago. now look at the crazy shit they're pumping out in /vtai/
>>113448084this doesn't really have a path forward, the path forward here is to toss it in the garbage and make something that can produce and rig a model so it has actual tracking. realistically this is about as good as this method will ever get without needing a full datacenter to generate frames fast enough to basically live convert your face into generated video data mapped to a character constantly to make an illusion of normal vtuber behavior. one is more realistic then the other.
>>113448037meanwhile to normal people the loudmouths on both sides are annoying twats who should be fed into a woodchipper
This is just another stealth /pol/ thread on what was supposed to be a hobby board.
>>113448137The idea is to create a full dataset of movement mapped onto a model, with smooth transitions between them giving the illusion of a fully rigged model
>>113448137Eh. I thought I saw someone try a similar thing with very simple expressions rigged on top of a pre-animated body. You don't actually need the whole model to track the user, just the face. It would probably look better with a combination of that + forcing all animations to start and end on the same frame to avoid it looking so jumpy.
>>113445749All hype and no substance. Same as it ever was with AI fags.
>>113445842Western vtubing was a mistake.
>>113448233This is what vtubers like Leaflit and Powdur and Kirsche did to the hobby and I wish they would just go away forever

>>113447106Backfire effect. Conservatives are prone to it because they're fucking wrong most of the time and they can't handle it.
>>113448596Really ironic, considering that it's the left that was riding the trans and pronouns stuff for years, denying fucking reality.
>>113447106Your problem is you speedran ruining the meaning of grifter faster than you ruined racist, fascist, literally hitler, chud. You keep creating boogeymen for yourself.Leaflit is honestly terrible at fitting in with actual right wingers.
>>113448625Yeah.
>>113448640If you press any of these chuddy girls you will hear them supporting socialist economic policy
>>113445749A lot of phasegirls want to graduate, so it got a positive impact in the community
Leaflit is trying to implement DEI in vtubing with AI. When she gets pushback she calls it communism, which is a W for anti-AI communists. This is because leaflit is herself left wing, but her fellow trans communists don't even see their own ally grifting as an enemy so they get mad.
>>113448685What will you hear if you mating press them
>>113448685>>113448713Man, it's almost like the left wing chased away people who were on their side. Even Asian intersex socialists like Leaflit. Imagine the right wing somehow chasing away white men, this would be considered a generational embarrassment.
>>113448640Isn't grift accurate then?Trying to fake it to appease a certain group for financial gain.
>>113448727they'll pretend to adopt your views until the lust wears off
This is the future of vtubing in the west btw. Fem chuds are too cowardly to show their real faces like male chuds, so they use vtubing to put on a mask instead. The more there are the more they'll drive normal people away.
>>113448903And it will all culminate into them holding a big concert and famous politicians and billionaires will suddenly appear on the stage and start dancing with them.
>>113448713These arguments never make sense to me. I actually heard someone argue "what if a doctor who worked as a doctor all his life wants to make some art? this allows him to do it."Now ask the inverse of that question: "What if an artist spent all his time making art, now wants to use AI to diagnose and treat people?" it would be fucking retarded. This is the sweet tasting poison Socrates warned of. People who use genAI to try to instantly 'make' something have no intention of ever growing as people.
>>113447970you fags are just as gay as the tumblrinas from 10 years ago
>>113449573Implying that these aren't actually tumblristas from 10 years ago that were rejected for being not woke enough.
>>113448713It's not DEI you dumb nigger. DEI in vtubing is having a corporation of riggers and artists and hiring people that cannot do art or rig because they're minorities.Or having a vtuber entertainment corpo and hiring people that aren't entertaining and hiring them because they're brown. Giving new hopefuls the tools to get started as a vtuber is not DEI. Fucking moron. There is no forced inclusion and exclusion of qualified individuals from the job, it's an option. This is like saying giving someone the tools to fix their own washing machine cheaply if they learn to do it themselves is DEI because some washing machine repair guy is missing a job from that guy that fixes his own machine.Using buzzwords incorrectly is annoying as shit.
>>113448345aryantuber?You fucking retard. She's ASIAN. She tells you she's ASIAN. None of you faggots do even the SLIGHTEST research into anyone you anti about, you just verbal diarrhea all over the place and then say RORU RUMAO KEKBecause you're brown from SEA.

>>113450438Eh, there were already some people without talent commissioning vtuber models. This just makes it cheaper and shoddier.
>>113445749I'm an AI enjoyer, how does it work? do you put in a prompt or something and it makes it into a vtuber model? I'll use this shit for fun if I can make some wacky shit.

>>113450799It's more or less giftubing. You use the ai to generate a handful of basic gif animations. Like by no means is this supposed to replace an actual live 2d model. It's more of a step up from basic idle pngtubing.
>>113450799>I'm an AI enjoyer
>>113445749Leaflet is cute... but she is also really stupid. Like really really stupid. She is a woman so I forgive her but man who takes her seriously is stupid.

>>113447321rigging exists for the sole purpose of not having everything be pre-animated because that would be even more time consuming and expensive. Honestly at that point just stick to being a pngtuber until you can afford an actual model with proper rigging. >>113463335Problem is that riggers is a very small clique of woke fags who want to see western civilization burn.

>>113464269from what I've gathered for what i consider a reasonably simple design in looking to try and make a model from scratch with only ai generated images for fun, you need to draw and put together around an 80+ layer psd, drawing a lot of stuff simply for it to only really show up partially if the model is tilted or something. as for rigging all i know is live 2d cubism has an auto-mesher that's likely not perfect and likely will take the most time to complete regardless, the rest being just like sitting there fine tuning the way the mesh is supposed to move which is more of a tedious task then a hard one. all in all, its just a long process unless you sort of half ass it like a lot of indies that make their own stuff at first making something super stylized to be as basic as possible.
>>113464575I worked with animation before. Back in the Macromedia Flash days I did animation and wrote the Action Script for a lot of educational tools my college at the time used. Jokes on him, I ended up dropping out of Engineering School and got a business degree instead lmao.
>>113448713Is this real? There's no way she's this dumb.>maintaining the keys to their kingdomNo one prevents anyone from creating something. It's not like they are arguing about becoming a doctor or an astrophysicist who works at NASA. It's about putting lines on a piece of paper. It's literally the most accessible hobby. There was a woman born in victorian era who became an artist known for painting without functioning hands or legs and painted with her mouth. Back then it was even harder to get into art due to material costs. >>113450186>Giving new hopefuls the tools to get started as a vtuber is not DEI. No, it kind of is DEI. It's lowering an already lowered barrier in an oversaturated market. >>113459636>>113459278It's wasn't just brown people that ruined the internet. In the early 90s to the mid 00s, you had to choose to be on the internet. So all the normalfags were doing normalfag things like clubs, bars, sport games, concerts, etc while all the nerds and geeks were nerding and geeking out on the internet. Then everyone got smart phones between 2007 and 2012 and obama even gave bums free phones around 2010. Now it's something like 98% of americans have a smart phone. That includes the the homeless fentzombie you see shitting on the street in la.
>>113445749I want Nachisu Miku to have one for the "hail Taxi" salute.
>>113467481To be fair, when use correctly AI is a great tool that can democratize art. In a not so distant future we will be able to turn thoughts into reality thanks to AI. While right now Leaflit tool is very basic and primitive compared to high end models, with time it will get better. I wouldn't be surprised if major agencies are looking into this and use AI tools to speed up the process of generating models for their talent.
>>113467773>>So all the normalfags were doing normalfag things like clubs, bars, sport games, concerts, etc>ie low commitment activities>>while all the nerds and geeks were nerding and geeking out on the internet>ie high commitment activitiesIt all boils down to this. Nobody cares or only pretends to care in order to get paid. Back when you had 2 or so hours to do anything on the computer (that you had to set up, on the internet that you also had to set up instead of just plug and play or write one password) you would make those hours count unless you had all the time in the world to shitpost. Now everyone is shitposting in the most detached apathetic way.>>113468414>democratize artBut nobody prevents you from writing, drawing or using a DAW. If anything it's democratizing effort and/or care.>I wouldn't be surprised if major agencies are looking into this and use AI tools to speed up the process of generating models for their talent. On this one I agree with you. Mostly because companies in general are prone to throwing things at a wall until somethings sticks. The whole:>the difference between a successful business and a failed business is two things>1. the successful one didn't stop>2. the successful one tried as many things in the most efficient low cost possibleWouldn't be surprised if in the future there would be thousand of farms of fully ai generated vtubers made by indians
>>113468593Not everyone has the motor skills needed to produce appealing art. AI makes it so that what it takes someone years and years of training can be done in a couple hours. The same thing happened with the invention of the Loom, Printing Press, Steam Engine, Automobile, Airplane and now GenAI. Every invention along the way disrupted existing labor. There will always be a place for traditional art as a hobby in the same way many of us manual crafts even though there are faster ways to do things. But the future for mass artwork is GenAI.
>>113445749lmao
>>113447134AI art is getting better and can copy styles pretty damn well. If you're thinking about the days where they all use the same model and everything is shaded the same exact way, it hasn't been that way for...about a year now

If there is enough art in all forms, movie, manga, anime, stories, music, vidya and others before AI to last anyone a lifetime, why would someone willingly choose AIGen? >>113468685You do know that art isn't a necessity right? The examples that you listed are innovations that are needed to make our day to day lives comfier, while art unlike them is/was always just a hobby to express one's talent and creativity. You literally compared automobile and aerial technological advancements to a hobby. We do not need to industrialize a fucking hobby to progress as a society.
>>113468997In the past being able to make clothes was completely done by hand. You had to pull, twist and turn various knobs, levers and thread in order to create textile cloth. But then the invention of the Mechanical Loom revolutionized clothes. No longer did you need to train people for a long time. Now machines could do most of the work with humans simply maintaining said machines and using punch cards to do so. Which BTW said punch cards were later the inspiration used for mechanical computers which later evolved into electrical computers. Every step of the way, what was once impossible became possible. Right now we are looking at the worst AI can be. 10 years from now who knows what we can achieve.
>>113469060The thing is that yes art can and will continue to be a hobby for many of us. But art as an industry, as a profession will change and probably go away when AI is able to do produce adequate artwork cheaper. Mass Media will use GenAI. Heck it already started in advertising where most of the ads this days are produced using GenAI. With time, as GenAI gets better, Video Games, Movies, etc will use GenAI.
>>113469060The hobby will always be there. But art as means to make a living might not be.
I thought her software was actually making a Live2D model with rigging and everything. That is not what it's doing at all, instead it's doing something super janky. I'm looking through the documentation and code and it's honestly really not impressive. This is all stuff that people could've done years ago with local models on their own hardware. VERY FAR from the current state of the art.Basically there's two separate systems.First, there's the "AS Adventurer Creator":>You first generate a picture of a character in front of a solid color background.>Then, using that picture you generate a looping video clip. >Finally it strips the flat background using chroma key software ported over from Fugi Maker EX (according to the source code).>This outputs looping webbums of your character doing an idle animation in front of a transparent background.Note: It uses Google Gemini for the AI generation for some fucking retarded reason but it seems it lets you generate your art or videos yourself using something saner like ComfyUI and some anime local model. Then, there's an entirely separate system called "AS Adventurer Client". The upload on their website for this is fucked. It serves a file called "ASAdventurerCLIENT.rar" on their site but the server sends the wrong headers so it's served as a text file. If you manage to download it anyways it does not seem to be a valid .rar file. I have no idea if it's just corrupt or if it's supposed to be a .exe or what. There is no source code available. From the descriptions it seems like the idea is that:>You generate 4 webbums with the AS Adventurer Creator tool: (idle animation, talking animation, entrance animation, exit animation)>Then you add them to this "AS Adventurer Client" tool and it generates a live overlay from the four webbums by hot swapping between them (I suspect it relies on audio, so if you're talking it switches to the talking animation and if you stop talking it switches to the idle animation). This does not do mouth tracking. It does not have rigging. It does not do facial expressions or emotions (though in theory you could add them by just generating more webbums and using a webcam with facial analysis and/or emotion recognition or just having toggles and calling it a day). It does not do any sort of motion tracking (leaning, head tilts, and so on).You can achieve way better results than Leaflits character creator by just using ComfyUI (it can do everything from generation to chroma key to video output) with better local models on a higher end consumer video card. ComfyUI gives you way more control over the model so you can set it up to automatically generate looping videos (Leaflit's software requires you to manual fix the video to make it loop) and you can even do stuff like use ControlNet to specify exactly how you want your model to move.As far as their "AS Adventurer Client", it's honestly such a fucking janky idea and the way they're doing it probably results in a bunch of webbums that don't match up at all so transitioning between them will always look fucked (unless you generate webbums using ControlNets which you can't fucking do with Google Gemini). You could honestly probably build your own and slap the whole thing together in a couple hours using Javascript or whatever. In the same way that I would not equate pngtubing with having a vtuber model, I would also not equate this with having a vtuber model.
>>113469108Being able to generate art with three words won’t get you a taste and watching giblified ads of big tits and sweaty skin slop proves it perfectly.
>>113469060Not to mention that all of those created more jobs>LoomsNow you need people to operate them, people to repair and maintain them, people who need to procure and transport an increasing amount of materials for an increasing demand.>Printing Press1:1 argument for looms + jobs to teach people how to read and write, which created the possibility to learn more jobs and specialize more + there are now jobs to create different covers & correct mistakes before publishing>Steam Engine, Automobile, AirplaneLiterally 1:1 with looms + teaching how to use the vehicles.Literally all of these created more jobs, helped more people either by physical transportation of people or goods or by transportation of information which as you said, provided convenience for people to do something else, aka saves times. ai sloppa "saves" you time in order to... save you time to ai sloppa? Makes no sense.
>>113469163thanks for the rundown anon. so many people hyping up yet another nothingburger it seems

I imagine the only reason no one did it before was because of artist backlash and because all the people who are really good at working with diffusion models are busy generating lewds.I don't know if it's currently possible to effectively use AI models to do make actual rigged Live2D models. The small amount of rigging work I've seen looks extremely complicated. Here's some tweets of Cillia showing some of the behind the scenes of Saba's rigging.https://x.com/cillia/status/1939817011389112673https://x.com/cillia/status/1939861922058498205
>>113463864Are conservative fags incapable of learning new skills, what the fuck are you saying?
>>113468833It's looked like shit no matter what. At least in 2020 it was so shit it was surreal and novel.
>>113452971Outside of /pol/ every single right winger community will ban you for going against the hivemind, hell you can't even post in r asmongold without it being ore approved by a mod. Legacy and internet media are also mostly controlled by rightoid which they uses to flood the zone with bullshit. Anyone remember those somali scams that got turbo pushed by musk? How many new arrests got made after that video dropped?
Suddenly I wannt to say that fucking around with ai motivated me to start doing drawing reps because time you spend on generating one fucking picture and then tweaking all fuckups is almost the same that you can spend drawing, unless your goal is to spam 300 gens of almost the same picture but with the different heads and clothes
>>113470471Not reality at all. Look at how trannies still post on Twitter. All these chudtubers regularly disagree with each other and only Indians posting about niggerdick get banned in their chats. Meanwhile Hasan's mods will ban you in a second for any dissenting view. The internet left is one massive purity spiral. They continually cancel each other for not having the canonical opinions.
