logistics are a shitshow wherever you go. japanese government processing, chinese manufacturing and shipping, menhera SEA artists deadlines, US landlord maintenance, etc. if they had JP/CN staff, maybe they could grease the gears with bureaucracy or manufacturing (foreign deals are a pain for everyone), but they're working with what they have. I've seen indies get full scammed on merch or have to solo the fulfillment and it takes weeks. setsuna is not going anywhere because merch at mint's scale it is otherwise not feasible. I'm not thrilled either that my october order isn't going to make july offkai, but this is comparable with the industry standard timelines I've gotten from geekjack. mint could have done gay little acrylic slabs with a short turnaround, but that's not mint. she knows that good stuff is late sometimes and that if something is shit it's shit forever. there is no magic manager to save mint specifically and make ships move and artists draw. there is no time in the pipeline to sue every international slipup. the complaints are too clueless. the densetsu team has shown they're good at making live events happen (AX, offkai, ANYC, etc), which is more in line with mint's goals of being on stage. I'm just gonna hope for offkai pickup

They were still working on getting the small chibi minto plushies shipped out as late as December 2025 (over a year later). If even small merch items killed their distribution lines, imagine how much bigger items (like the 40cm fumo) affect distribution lines.
