So there I was, watching her like normal. Having a good time, you know? When out of nowhere, she pauses next to an npc and goes silent.
I knew what was coming so I sped to put a row of :_CeCeEvil: in chat. As I did, Ceci committed the worst and most deranged crime imaginable and started cackling, and I mean howling at the fate of this npc by her hands.
Only moments later did the wave of :_CeCeShock: and :_CeCeOtoStare: and :_CeCeEvil: spam roll in. But I knew I was first, but it wasn't over just yet.
You see, in my rush to kick off the emote spam, I gave precious moments to the typers who were just barely posting "do it" or "ceci no!" after she already did it. I knew I had no time to waste so I put my hands to home row and got to typing fast as I could. Here we go, 'F-O-R J-U-S-T-I-C-E :_CeCeEvil:', perfect.
Right when I hit Enter, thinking to myself I'd made it first twice, I see it. Surfing in the wave of initial emotes, "Do it for Justice :_CeCeEvil::_CeCeSmug:". A single seemingly late message., but it was so much more than that. I didn't care that my own message successfully preceded the wave of identical ones to mine. Ceci was still laughing, even moving on to another unfortunate npc to brutalize. But I was stunned by what that "late" message really meant. That otomo had a read on Ceci's murderous intent before I did.
Early enough that they weren't reacting with 'FOR JUSTICE' but instead anticipating, outright telling her to "Do it", moments before she had done it. And the very fact that it was late, meant they took their time to type it. So no matter how fast I typed, they had me beat from the start. I thought it wasn't fair, oh but that smug, that damn :_CeCeSmug: was starting at me dead in the face, telling me what a fool I am trying to stand out with a chain of emotes the exact same as everyone else's.
I looked at my message below, even overshooting it in the rising tide of red and green. Then I looked back, instantly finding it again, "Do it for Justice :_CeCeEvil::_CeCeSmug".
I have to admit, I felt defeated, like a loser.
But piercing though it all was a sound that melted it all away. At first it said "Heeeey, that's good. That's weally good". I looked up, and there she was, turned from the game and now towards chat. Her signature pink lower lip, and her golden key steadily spinning. She spoke, and then kept speaking. She spoke some things about the game mechanics, then a dig at the devs, a sarcastic apology, follow by "No, I'm not sorry actually", and she just kept going.
She talked, and giggled, and annihilated another npc, and giggled. It was like I was right back at the start, just watching her, having a good time. You know?
