The recession has hurt the EN vtuber market and even Hololive EN couldn't sell out their concerts in 2026 or 2025. Cover bootlickers are quick to ridicule indie vtubers while making excuses for why Hololive is having to make budget cuts outside of Japan. While I think Mori was mostly doomposting about the 2027 EN concert there is a chance that Cover will move EN to a smaller venue.

Oshispark got very unlucky with the timing for the concert. The day before they started ticket sales, Hololive announced their ANYC Summer 3D Karaoke Concert scheduled for the same exact time
>>
>>114242983
There's already too many streams.
>>
>>114243386
I wouldnt say unlucky. I think they got greedy.
No vtuber concert outside of hololive should be in a venue bigger than 1000, especially when you are relying on hololive fans to show up for it when you know there is at least a 50% they are running a concert on Friday or Saturday of a major con weekend.

IMO I would rather sell less for more money and sell out then rent a big venue and have to eat shit on half the tickets and paper it. keep it exclusive and rare. this makes everybody involved in this concert look bad and embarrassed.
>>
>>114242784
Skyline and holo karaoke are overlapped so people are split between the two as well.
If you intention is to say a lot of these audiences are the same people then I would second that.

That's quite a bit within the span of two months, especially when from June to July you had a bunch of events going on in California, a state with a notoriously high cost of living. >Even Hololive's usual AnimeNYC appearance, which is usually instantly sold out within an hour, still has tickets available a whole month or two since they went up for sale.
This is just anecdotal to me.
I was under the belief that world tour concerts would have some live segments similar to other hololive concerts. I understand performances are usually recorded but I was expecting some live MC. Last year the snafus with the world tour in Canada revealed the entire thing was prerecorded and there was no live elements at all. Now by this revelation, I had already purchased tickets to the ANYC world tour 2025 so I decided to give it a shot. I attended the ANYC concert and was severely let down by the experience. The show was alright itself but everything else felt pretty shitty. The venue being just a bunch of folding chairs in a panel room, normies who wanted to sit through the show, staff obliging to normies and hassling people into sitting, and finally having no time after the show to mingle and enjoy the atmosphere. We were immediately funneled out with staff and security aggressively pushing people to leave the venue because it was closing time. In my opinion that just wasn't worth the money and effort I went through to attend.
Now this year it isn't even a world tour concert, it's just a karaoke show. I don't even know if this will be live or just a recording of a karaoke session.I can't be assed paying money and traveling for it on top of the expensive ANYC badge. Also ANYC is just flopping this year with less guests and things to do overall; scalpers are selling 4-day badges at a loss. Hell even regular people are deciding to skip ANYC and sell off their badges to make some money back.
I feel like if hololive wants to invest in ANYC they need to purchase more time and give the staff a heads up on how a concert like this works with people cheering and trying to have a good time, they also need some time built in so people aren't rushed to leave. It's fucking lame getting the "thanks for money, get the fuck out" feeling from the venue staff 1 second after the show ends.
>>
>>114245903
>I wonder if Dooby or Saba being a guest in this could have sold it out. It's a shame Dooby doesn't care for Nimi anymore and possibly turned down an appearance here.
Saba maybe considering her popularity even in this drought is ridiculous, but outside of her, 2.8k seats is a lot and I don't think an indie concert could reach that unless it has all or nearly all the heavy hitters during a favorable weekend in a big city.
Probably would need ironmouse or some other people outside the usual circle too to really pad out the numbers. Spreading out the reach into multiple circles would help a lot for stuff like this.
That said I don't think it's impossible and considering how cozy all of them are getting lately with each other I wouldn't be surprised if a 2k+ venue gets packed next year.

Granted is any of this necessary? Probably not. You really don't need even 1k people to make returns on a vtuber concert when merch gets involved, and I expect plenty of events in the coming years.

Breaking Dimensions and OFA sold out fast, but Serendipity was very slow this year. Idol stuff in America is seemingly going soft even at the highest level which is hololive. If youre not holo, shit is capped at a small venue that has to leech off of Offkai like >>114249956

Anon if you only look at the Japanese market Nijisanji is doing great and is currently the biggest vtuber company in the world. What gets complicated is when you look at the EN vtuber market where the recession has caused a noticeable drop in sales. NijiEN doesn't even attempt EN concerts anymore while HoloEN couldn't sell out their main EN concert 2 years in a row (and might switch to a smaller venue in 2027).
>>
>>114250165

Skyline will be full of homeless people in the crowd who are just coming in for the free air conditioning.
That or they could revert back to covid times and just put cardboard cutouts with idol sticks taped to them.

it doesnt matter how it looks on camera anymore since we know they are 24 hours from the concert and half the tickets remain available.
>>
>>114249795
Hololive is still a big name player, you know people will try to save up money and set aside time for it. But that doesn't really change the other 3 factors at all, people don't mind idol concerts and events but there's only so many they can attend in a short span of time. Not only that but people have less and less free cash to spend on things because the global economy is not doing great, and people will be damned if they're going to waste what little cash they have to go to an expensive place like New York City, attend an apparently lackluster convention, just for a pre-recorded concert. Especially if some of those people are students getting ready for another university semester in a few weeks.

>>
I believe the point of disrespect here is that if you were a believer and backer of this concert since Day 1, you are not getting any of these new purchase perks. They are not retroactively giving out the b2g2 free tickets perk to people who already made purchases. Not to mention any groups of 4+ who purchased 4 tickets when they could've just purchased 2 lost out on saving $200.
Doing something like this just isn't ideal as it sets the precedent that you're better off not buying oshispark tickets (outside of VIP) until they flounder and start giving them away for free.

>>
>>114264362
>and they could just cut the cord on the freebie tickets if they get too many emails.
Anon, you're thinking of them like they're some gigantic corpo pinching every penny like Niji or something.
Hell, I've seen the official oshispark account post in random 2view chats. I'm pretty sure it's just a small-med group of fans with connections in the con/event industry, so yeah they'll throw you the same deal. There can't be THAT many groups of 4+ buying seats, considering they're vtuber fans.
Doki even said back after her concert with Mint that the on-site merch is what actually makes the money for their concerts, and considering they've already sold 1400 tickets, I'd imagine that merch is gonna sell pretty well.
>>
>>114249599
How common is this in the entertainment industry?
>>
>>114264494
Dunno but it's fucking hilarious.
It relies on a vtuber fan to not only have one friend, but three.
>>
>>114263669
They are making a sucker out of you, my dumb burger friend. You paid full price, that's your reward for being a loyal fan. While the casuals got their tickets at half price.
You are probably the same sort of retard that thinks Steam Sales are an opportunity.
>>
>>114264604
Kek. Yeah, they don't know their market.
>>
>>114264335
So they are still able to sell only this much with such discounts? Shit is so grim
>>
>>114264640
>While the casuals got their tickets at half price.
That's not really how it works.
It's not like someone sees the bogo and decides to buy the ticket they wouldn't have gotten normally.
You need 4 people going as a group to take advantage of the deal to begin with.
If you have 2 people paying, you'd be able to bring 2 more who normally wouldn't have gone.
>>114264656
Nah, they understand it perfectly. It's a deal that pads the numbers but with a requirement that'd exclude most buyers.
And people who can't take advantage of it wouldn't need it to begin with.
>>
>>114264714
Eh we know they sold 1400 before this B2G2 offer
>>
>>114264474
None of that has anything to do with them not officially posting a memo saying "email us if you bought two tickets and want the two free". That's literally all they need to do, and your own argument of them being a small team shouldn't cause a corporate roadblock to put a tweet out.
Even at this very moment there's no actual proof they will honor a request. You just made an anonymous post saying "I sent an email and they gave me free tickets" with no attached email or proof.
I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and humoring your original post even though I shouldn't.
>>
they should give out tickets to random congoers at ANYC
>>
>>114265214
It falls under common sense, anon.
I swear, /vt/ is incapable of any kind of problem solving or social interaction skills.
>>
>>114266189
Common sense is clearly posting terms and policies not letting customers make assumptions and inquire about every little thing. This is the most ridiculous argument, not to mention there still isn't any proof they are honoring requests besides one single anonymous post. Next you'll argue that people don't lie on the internet?
Keep posting nonsense it's really helping your case.
>>
>>114243101
Why would you ever make a career out of QA? At least this guy is probably a millionaire from the Adobe stocks over 20+ years.

/vt/ubing really is just /pw/restling
>>
>>114264729
How retarded are you? Those 2 extra people will contribute to the ticket money, there ain't anybody with 3 friends.

KEKAROOOOOO!

Not selling out doesn't automatically make a concert a flop, but a concert not selling out even 60% of its available tickets IS a flop (1,333 tickets available by the time of this post, which is ~47% of the venue capacity left).
The fact that the organizer had to put tickets up on a "buy 2 get 2" scheme at last minute like some burgers showed how desperate they are to sell even a few more tickets
>>
>>114266482
>sending e-mails asking for clarification is posting nonsense
amazing
It's a wonder you can tie your own shoelaces.
You CAN tie shoelaces, can you?

The fact that they can't even GIVE AWAY tickets to this fucking thing
Enough with the shitty theaters already, nobody wants to pay over a hundred dollars to sit in an old musty ass venue with obstructed views
Medium-sized proper music venues are the way to go. Make your fat ass fans stand on their feet
>>
>>114242540
People are calling it "blue dot fever" and its affecting the whole live entertainment industry

Indie avenger bros I don't feel so good...

Where can you see how many have sold?
Also it they are automatically giving people free extra tickets doesnt mean people will be in those seats come show time. The free tickets will count as “sold” but nobody bought them and it remains to be seen if people use their free tickets
>>
>>114266783
>a concert not selling out even 60% of its available tickets IS a flop

>The free tickets will count as “sold” but nobody bought them and it remains to be seen if people use their free tickets
That is a part of the scheme to make an event on paper seem more successful than it is. They do this in pro wrestling all the time they paper events and give away tickets, but they count as sold. They claim "we sold out!" but visually it looks pathetic.
>>
i cant wait for them to claim they sold 2500 tickets when 1000+ of them were given away to strangers and the energy in the venue is gonna be weird because normies got dragged to it
>>
>>114266513
We are quickly reaching /pw/ levels of samefagging and schizos tribalfagging each other on a dead board as the industry slowly dies so the parallels are truly immense

I mean it worked for Ironmouse here >>114260374
The tickets for that were never sold out at any point and they just filled it up with con attendees at the end and no one was the wiser
>>
>>114268501
Mouses concert was not a free concert at any point. Con attendees had to pay extra for a ticket.
