okay, just to be clear, I literally never noticed til you mentioned it. which means there is no claim to a flash of memory suddenly snapping thousand of details into place followed by a claim with what I'd colloquially call schzo certainty. I can't organize that which wasnt recorded beyond a gut feeling that your complaint is valid and you're asking in good faith.
two possible explanations for what you are describing.
1. she was hardwired to be easily overwhelmed. the environmental factors are most noteworthy for being orders of magnitude more intense than the average person needs to deal with. it still acted on a tard brain that gets motion sick easily, has trouble seperating sounds from colors, and her sense-perception gap is easy to clog by bombarding her with exreaneos detail.
for someone like that, I would imagine that one frame bleeds over into the next as her attention shifta. sort of like if you take lsd. slowly draging your eye from one part of a picture to another will cause all the details to melt together. however, going from one picture to another allows for a reset. it's just new. no calculus of motion to deal with. which fixes literal motion sickness and possibly the other stuff.
2. she needs to make her tasks into discreet items rather than a flow of activity. her neuotic behavior used to be made crystal clear when she played rts. it became less apparent after drawing her attention to it and snapping her out of some of the habits, but they were instuctive of systemic approaches.
she would much rather hide in one spot of the map, ignoring the alarm bells, and just finishing her little task than she would to be aware of the big picture. this isnt funny. it was never funny.
sadly, time and chat constrictions meant that teaching her how to prioritize attention instead of tasks did not extend to the underlying issue. she was able to move, but mostly from snap shot to snap shot. she is still very much adverse to seeing every thing, every task, every action, as spilling over into and impacting the rest.
I offer you this because it is a lot easier to not find something annoying when you understand why it is not arbitrary. she's more comfortable playing games like that, there's a reason for it, she might not have even noticed herself, and it isn't a settings issue.
again, just a guess, but I think it means more to her than it does to us and I'm not a fan of taking away a comfort without offering the means to make one's own comforts in return

every single new PC gamer does this if they are not taught differently, for me it was counter strike I was forced to play at low sensitivity to aim properly
everyone likes high sensitivity, it's comfier, but then comes realization that you can't see anything missing out on important game elements and can't aim at the head at all
She never played competitive FPS properly, watch how Clio plays fps(for a map gamer she is quite a bit better than Lumi) or Sleepy, they know how to do it and it's easy to watch as a bonus.
Though I do get your point about overwhelming imagery, she has a bit of an issue with that. Also has to read chat, I won't be able to do it and keep any semi decent cognitive ability in tact, have to say I respect streamers for that.

I know it sounds like connecting everything to psych is retarded, but true or not, the value of a theory is predictive power. it isn't hard to activate what's left of an exhausted fight or flight system that has been conditioned to respond by either freezing in defeat or quickly trying to fix the thing before anyone has a chance to notice.
