In the comic Thor got lifted out of his banishment after decades of living as human, and it's also why early on it isn't strange for Thor to be regularly in New York. First one is the worst offender there, since the villain plot, which was well executed, isn't enough to save it compared to the other two. The fourth one is pretty much an insult to any character development and just a vehicle to add plot and lore details, like the Captain Negro movie. Admittedly, it'll probably pay off if Doomsday and Secret Wars are hits.
