Fanfic anon 2 here (guess that's what I should go by when needed). Bit unrelated, but before I go to sleep, I never had a proper way to describe what Neuro is in a narrative sense until now, but I finally get it. Neuro can be classified as what they call a Shakespearean fool. It's a perfect way to describe what she does in general, in every sense. When I say fool, I don't mean dumb. The term of fool I'm referring to is how one appears naive or nothing special, however actually has a lot more that allows them to succeed through whatever thanks to a pure heart and their wit that helps get them out of situations or point out problems. This is usually only a trait you see in classic hero types/main characters. It's so fucking cool, idk how to describe it. Neuro is so cool. I love Neuro so much, man.
