Someone using a slur to insult someone is not funny, it's just racist, there is no comedic value at all, it's just hateful. The 4chan kind, calling people slurs when they do things you don't like. But for example a white guy on insta using the n-word to refer to his audience without any hateful intent will kinda crack me up with how out of pocket, yet not hateful it is. Very context dependent.

You can be demeaning, outright dehumanizing, without using so much as a single insult, or be affectionate with slurs, that's what I mean by context behind it. Now the problem is with strangers, it can be REALLY hard to judge whether he's kinda being tongue in cheek "haha yeah I am totally just ironic" but actually hateful, or just purely joking. Which is why I don't make or send offensive/shock humor jokes or memes in public, to people you don't know that well and don't hang out with people I can't be super sure have... morals lul. But if it's me in my room scrolling something, and I don't get the immediate impression it's just meant to be racist (this is why I hate twitter, that platform is radicalizing as fuck, full of thinly veiled hate against everything and everyone), meaning I can interpret it reasonably easily to be meant jokingly, not seriously, then I don't feel the need to dig too far, I just take it as "I can't believe he said that" humor not meant to be taken seriously and have a laugh at it, no harm done to anyone or to society. TLDR of my yapping essentially: if I feel like it's joking, and there's no actual harm being committed (for example I super don't like """pranks""" that are actually just hurting people, omega antisocial) the taboo breaking makes it funny, but actual hate is something else, imo.

Like how I made no secret out of the fact I use the word "retarded" to describe things as very stupid, because that's how the social circles I wandered in used it, and therefore hurt no one, but if you ask me to not to because it's hurtful to you, I don't do it around, or with you. Because I'm concerned with not hurting you. The easiest way would be to just keep your entire speech neutral at all times, which is bothersome, and alienating as fuck, so instead I go off of who and where I am talking to, paying attention to not hurt people.

You can't just separate the history behind a word while cherry-picking the weight that history gives it because that's more convenient for you. Those words have a stronger impact specifically because of the history behind them. Using the r word as a stronger version of "stupid" only works for you because of the history behind that word.

Even the dictionaries constantly change meanings or add new words. You're arguing that because whips were used to enact oppression there's never an ethical use for whips. Is it ethical to whip a person? Of course not. A wild animal that is about to attack you? Yes. Same tool, different scenario. Languages IS like this. It's not absolute in any way.
The oppression of these marginalized groups is what gives such a heavy impact to those words. By using them, regardless of your intention, you are essentially reaping the benefits of other people's suffering without having endured said suffering yourself. From the perspective of a marginalized person, it's very insulting and comes off almost like a mockery of what they endured, as if they had to go through so much suffering just for you to be able to use a word with more impact. What gives you the right to take the weight created by someone else's oppression and use it for your own benefit? You aren't reclaiming something that was used to oppress you. You're taking the consequences of someone else's oppression and treating them as something that's yours to season your conversations with.
I think you should take some time to really think about what I've been saying.
