With Neuro the fact that she's AI is part of the brand. Her feeling like a child discovering things in real time when she plays games works because it feels genuine without there being a human behind the avatar and it just being Neuro.

Maybe a different AI vtuber can work, but it would be very difficult to come up with something that doesn't make it seem like a Neuro copy. "The TTS says random quirky things" by itself maybe worked in early 2023, but not anymore. The reason people watch Neuro for that is because she already has brand recognition so people humanize her beyond just being an algorithmic text generator which makes it work.
In addition we have followed Vedal from the beginning with his first crude iterations and watched him get better at programming and handling Neuro. It's a personal connection that can't just be taken for granted.
You'd have to build up a brand somehow with an already complicated AI and make the fact that she's AI work in a different way than "kid that is discovering the world", because that's already Neuro, but that fits an AI so well I don't know what else you'd do, which I guess explains why there isn't another AI tuber.

* Cweamcat reacted to a clip of the cooking stream with Vedal in the morph suit. She thought that Vedal was in a wifebeater under the suit because of the seams. Aquwa who was in the chat thought he was naked underneath it
* Next Aquwa stream she brought up the clip to rewatch and ask chat's opinion. She has a bullying relationship with her chat so they started making fun of her for pausing on Vedal's back to look.
* Clippers get involved. Aquwa threatens her chat to drop it or she would "draw them pregnant"
* Bwaatists (Swarm fanart clique) decided this was a challenge and started spamming art to her tag
* She admitted defeat. But at that point clippers were eating well and it swelled.
* Aquwa dragged Cweamcat back into it, saying she started it, and all it ended up doing was making them both "backtubers"
* The meme basically died by this point. Until Vedal raided Crelly. Once that happened swarm basically stuffed her with clips to react to, including the backtuber one. She had already seen references to Aquwa the backtuber, so when she saw the original clip, she said "oh, I get it" which her chat did not let go.
* The meme was revived at this point. Hanakyo, a small react streamer whose bit was lusting after male streamers joined and got a big boost from swarm
* Mega had a clip added to her react queue and paused to talk during the back part, and of course got the label as well.
* Someone made a website "backtuber.com" which redirected to one of their channels randomly
* Crelly, Aquwa, Cweamcat and Mega, given they have similar temperament and chat interaction, became friendly and started collabing. This only magnified it since they were together a lot. And they clipfarmed it because that's basically the streamer job
* People made a lot of stuff. Like this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIFoekOCRnw
* At this point there started to be a backlash because it was starting to "take over" and there was a lot of Vedal back art added to the Neuro art tag
* Vedal collabed with Cottontail who started reacting to videos, including this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQNxMC0GNek . Vedal complained "chat, what are you showing her?" Cotton was into it and declared herself a backtuber.
* At this point the backlash had reached boiling point, so they decided they would do one more stream and end it officially. But then it got to Ellie who said she felt uncomfortable and Aquwa declared it dead early, and began banning people if they kept bringing it up.
* Side note, Filian later heard about it, and that's what conected her to Aquwa, who connected her to Crelly, and that's how Crelly got in the Minecraft collab.
Aquwa is still friendly with everyone, including Koko and Camila, and Mini and Cerber and Ellie were in her holiday karaoke stream. Some people in swarm will never forgive her though

one of his discord mods got caught grooming in dms. they were removed as a mod but allowed to stay in the discord server. it's likely they were only punished because they were publicly called out by the community, and not because of what they actually did.

vedal's youtube is set up and managed in a way that directly targets children as a primary demographic, which leads to them watching the twitch channel which has a lot of adult themes and regularly endorses 18+ creators which attracts a more older audience who is now interacting with the channel with a more nsfw mindset, but then the Discord is open to 13+...

they are aware of the risk a community built like this poses, and they don't care. an incident has already occurred because of this, and that's only the one we happen to know about. and barely anyone talks about it because it happened on Discord, where it's much easier to keep incidents contained and away from the public eye.

Summary:
A french frog, fan of Ellie, flirted with her on discord. Later she decided she wasn't interested and he had a melty. Ended up making a doccy that exposed that she cheated on a different guy with another different guy. Cucké™ was not cheated on; he was rejected before she fucked around with those other two.

Side Notes:

- The result of the doccy is that her streaming career wasn't really affected but her reputation did take a little bit of a hit. Most people keep this new knowledge in the back of their heads, but it doesn't really seem like she lost a notable portion of her audience.
