The 3-4-3 was heavily based on /2hug/'s 3-4-3 which in turn was - apparently - a copy of VTL 10 /mint/. /2hug/ won the /vg/ Ladies' Night with it.
The 4-3-3 was VTL 10 /choc/, every playstyle on every position and all the sliders were identical.
The 4-4-2 was /xivg/ of the last VGL, they reached the Final with it, but it seemed comparatively weak against these opponents so it never had a chance to be employed.
And speaking of the manager against which they lost the Final, so, the winner of the last VGL... yeah that's my co-manager for the /hi3/ Memevitational team, we discussed player cards and details about the tactical approach.
And with all of this, nothing worked for us over 3 matches.

Okay, about this. It's true, the VTL isn't fun. It hasn't been fun for me in a while now, it's a frustrating mess, frustrating by design, and got to admit that this time around, I didn't even watch a single match for the whole 90 minutes which wasn't ours. The whole divegrass thing is fun for me, don't get this wrong. Immediately after /mint/'s first VTL match, /hi3/ was playing for example in the AGL. I used that tournament to learn AES (to put it simple, I turned a bunch of official MMD models into players), I reworked the team's audio (except for chants, actually), the Wiki because doing Wiki stuff is also fun, and it was fun making tactics. Speaking of those tactics, to paint a picture of the randomness of all of this, that team started the Group Stage with its highest loss ever and the same tactics made it achieve its biggest victory ever later in the KO stage.

She doesn't really need it. She is bigger than them and could end up like Suisei and Hololive. They could hold her back. She occupies a unique space in vtubing being both an indie and former corpo. She is too big to be a regular indie and too small to be a big corpo. Sure it is probably stressful because one wrong move and she is busted. She has to constantly be on the look out for more work.

The better question is why don't her and the other large indies don't start their own corpo?
