Whenever vtubers crash out and justify it by saying "things happened behind the scenes" I can't help but wonder if these women understand that things happen at any normal workplace every single day. The difference is that we have to keep grinding 8+ hours a day anyway for a fraction of what she makes. I have women fatigue.

She indeed has. One of these days she'll figure out that life has ups and downs for everyone

That's messed up. Sounds like pulling the ladder up behind her type behavior. I don't see her doing that... unless she is different IRL? I have no idea of the world of cosplayers.
>>

Can't speak about the new hires but it is a bit odd, you'd think she'd have gotten into Holo by now.

She’s just on her period. She’ll be better next week.

Mint is a very obnoxious type of menhera. She’s never, ever happy no matter what.

how could her life be so hard just stream she could watch paint dry and probably still have 2k people watching no matter what drop the idol shit though

Why do people say the dumbest things with so much confidence.
>>
>>115131140

>>
She just continues to keep doing this "mah mental load" woman stuff. Even when she was out of the claws of an oppressive company, even when she was greeted with resounding success for an indie, even when she's enabled to do her weeb dreams, she's never happy. She's always looking at something and being upset about how everything isn't exactly like she think she deserves. It gets old. Just put the streams in the bag.
>>
>>115131140
Nta but he’s right.
Anybody who can just fuck off to Japan to laze around, chase a Jap rapper career, and live off of part time English tutoring is probably coming from a decently well off family and is having everything paid for them. The fact she has threatened to leave multiple times over small issues shows how she has no clue just how amazing of job she has.
>>
>>115131200
You don't know what's going on behind the scenes. Ignorant fool
>>
>>115131237

>>
>>115131335
She can't get a japanese visa and was foced to settle for California, which might be messing up a lot of her plans and projects
>>
>>115131023
Depends. From what I understand Cover is going for real idols, pros. Mint could considering she is now a veteran with experience. However there is a difference between a person who worked their way up in the industry and someone who was trained for the spotlight from the start. Pro idols have a huge advantage over homegrown vtubers. Mint is good but there is a noticeable difference between her and the pro idol vtubers.
>>
>>115131386
Mint is crazy popular. If Cover passed on hiring her, the shareholders would have to fire Yagoo at that point
>>
>>115131373
>California
Which is also having issues in itself. I think there was something about her and Mata rooming it up because it looks like cost of living went to the moon. Mint is one of the few people I know who went to California, when the current trend is to leave the state. I don't think it was a smart move.
>>
>>115131373
Outside of needing a studio with specific mocap, should that really be an issue? The virtual aspect of being a vtuber is supposed to help in this department.
>>
>>115131023
she threw that away by going indie after niji instead of just waiting for 2 years. could’ve been advent with fwmc, instead she gets a legendary flop
>>
>>115131439
I don't think the shareholders would give a fuck that they passed on some gajin.
>But passing mint up would cause kiara to go mental on their asses!

>>
>>115131439
There is zero chance Cover is hiring a former Niji or vice versa.
>”B-But! They hired Luna!”
This isn’t the Wild West days of vtubing anymore. Neither of them will hire the others former employee because of what that would do to the other company’s image.
>>
>>115131023
Unless Nijisanji and Hololive have some agreement in place not to grab each other's talents after Luna, its probably because her independent business is so established that there's just no point in doing grabbing her. It's not like she's a small indie or just famous and well connected enough (ie 100k subs tops) but you can win her over to your group with exclusive sponsorships, industry connections and concerts and more, she probably has people to help her with that. There is nothing Cover can offer her that she can't get on her own, she's a good friend for the company and they both mutually benefit but probably not who they're looking for as an employee, especially if they aren't sure how long she'd stick around for.
>>
>>115131532
>what that would do to the other company’s image.
I never understood this. Do they feel the fans would see it as poaching or something?
>>
>>115131118
Hilarious projection kek
>>
>>115131567
It would be less seen as poaching and more so a reflection of the previous company the talent was part of. It would be a very clear case of jumping ship to a competitor, which isn't looked upon fondly in any industry. It would also make the talent look very money driven, while also putting that impression on the company they joined. It's just complicated for all parties involved.

>constantly on the verge of mental breakdowns, depression episodes, and thin enough skin to rival paper

>>
>>115131566
They had a shared anti defamation agreement. In Japan they are the two largest and well known corpos. They each now deal with millions of dollars of business a year. It’s not just Coco’s Reddit meme time anymore. Having a talent leave company A to work at company B looks terrible for company A. If these two are cooperating on any level I doubt either would allow it at this point.

>>

Sounds like the previous company kinda deserved it in Niji's case tho. Personally I don't think its bad that a talent looks out for their own best interest (nor am I saying thats what you were implying btw) so its just weird to me that the JP audience would be ok with an anti-competitive custom like refusing to hire ex employees. And of course that will make any applicant think it ten times over before applying to A or B.

It's probably just so these two industry giants can rest easy knowing a company they're cooperating with won't actively fuck them over without serious legal repercussions. I guess it would be like it Nijisanji were to win over some HoloStars, Cover wouldnt be happy either.

Most large businesses have non compete agreements for a reason.

Many idols have been training from single digit age in the fields of music, dance, and acting. Then there is the job aspect. Pro idols don't object to much and just do the role. Vtubers from the internet just don't have those skills honed and always have unpredictable responses to assignments.

>>
>>115139501
Mint said outright that she never wanted to work at a JP company again after Niji, and Kiara mentioned a few times how Mint kept rebuffing her joking aboutt joining when she was showing off the studio to her.
Doki's said several times pre/during/post corpo how Cover was something she never considered because she thought she wouldn't fit there
Mata I can't imagine ever applying but ironically of the three might have had the best chance in there due to being an actual extrovert with life experience.

Though Doki's said that back after she got fired, she was desperately trying to shill herself to any group or org that'd take her, with nobody willing to actually bring her on, forcing her to solidify herself as an independent. It's wild to imagine a world where she got snatched up by a corpo, be it something like Holo as an EN event organizer or even somewhere as minor as Idol or VSPOen that she could've given tens of thousands of fresh eyes on. Apparently vshojo didn't even bother to contact her or respond.

Minto is menhera because she wants to be the best vtuber. She said multiples times that her biggest desire is making us proud of her. This leads to overwork and depression in the end, but we can't convince her that just streaming and living a happy relaxing life is more than enough.

She already acomplished so much. Hell, she was the face of fucking comiket this year an is close to Capcom and many other companies. Everything feels like a checkmark for her and I feel like she never enjoys what she manages to achieve. I wish I could inject into her brain that she doesn't need more numbers, merch or concerts or whatever the fuck. Aiboos are wealthy as fuck and will bankroll her until she becomes a old little lady because we love her so much.
>>
>>115130580
Mint was working since she was a teenager. Many vtubers worked at some summer job and went to school. Just compare her to her old Nijisanji peers. Do you think Finana, Selen, Elira have a lot of work experience? Finana was basically a neet (female)

This idol shit is so stupid. 80% or more of the fanbase in the west doesn't give a fuck about it and yet they pour so much time, money, effort, and ruin their mental stability over it when it turns sideways and they realize that no one wants to pay them to be the girl on stage singing and dancing.
>>
>>115141593
>Aiboos are wealthy as fuck and will bankroll her until she becomes a old little lady because we love her so much.
Probably why she's so menhera tbdesu. Nothing she does actually matters, she makes money based on whales who will subsidize her lifestyle unconditionally no matter the quality of her content. She knows at some level that no one actually cares about the idolshit despite it being her life's passion which must be a huge bummer, the fandom she cultivated exists at cross purposes with the dream she wants to achieve.

If she wanted to do idolshit she should have just stayed in Niji- Japan is literally the only place with both the infrastructure and the idol culture necessary to do make it work at scale. Her idolfagging is more aligned with the underground & kaigai idol scenes that heavily integrate things like wotagei, calls, mixes, UOs, hamtaro circles, etc. Many of those things are only possible/acceptable at smaller scales, not large venues like Niji.
>>
>>115146306
It's only "harder" because she's actually able to do all these things now, instead of Niji always telling her "No".

it sounds like it burnt her out too

Pre-Niji Mint > Pomu >>> Post-Niji Mint

in an alternate timeline, she toughed it out at niji, gradually turned things around, and formed an idol group with maririn

also en vtubing is not dead in this timeline
>>
>>115145598
too old and washed up to be cute
>>
>>115147763
I the the post-Niji Mint needs to be split up into 2 eras, the fresh indie Mint and the loli Mint.

Fresh Indie Mint in 2024 was peak and the best version of her. 2025 onward it has just been awful. same vaniety projects with the same tired group of vtubers doing the same things with less streams and more trips it feels soulless.
>>
>>115132057
>imagine if *thing that happens all the time* happened, lol whats wrong with people
So this is the power of a real neet.
>>
>>115147961
In that alternate timeline, Niji management would have forced her to be part of the Black Screen Stream (if not host it), thereby earning her the ire of the entire vtubing community, and being unable to deal with the aftermath, graduate and disappear from vtubing like Ike did
>>
>>115146306

Same man. I tried to ignore the writing on the wall in late 2024, since I thought at the end of the day she would be about streaming the games and hanging out. The soul was quickly ripped out of things and I took my leave with my time.
>>
>>115150364
You think the idolfag who appeared in 10 conventions in early 2024 (starting the same month she returned) would be all about "streaming games and hanging out"?
>>
>>115150461
I thought she actually liked video games enough and being a vtuber in general. So yeah, I guess that's on me for thinking a woman could properly manage her time.
>>
>>115137330
That's just called being a professional
>>
I've seen this phenomena a lot over the past year. Fans are either loudly defensive when their chuuba streams very rarely in favor of "personal projects", while the fact remains that it cuts into streaming, engagement, and ultimately content. Fans also get loudly annoyed by the concept as well, but they're more likely to just leave since the vtuber isn't giving them the type of content they want anymore, and dealing with the toxic positivity fanbase doesn't help either. I think mint definitely has that type of divide. I wonder if there is going to be a type of vtuber crash in the western space eventually when all these vanity projects keep running the vtuber in the red in both time and money.
>>
>>115151961
We're already there. While some blame can be held with the state of the world, there's still some that comes on the girls for constantly whining about how much their songs, MV's, 3ds, etc cost when those weren't even THAT huge of a thing for the biggest of Vtubers back before covid. Now every single release in any shape or form becomes a begathon because they can't recoup any of it in a meaningful way because a majority of their fans just don't give a shit about the music beyond 'supporting the girl they like'. The reason why it continues to work for talents who're heavily subsidized by Japanese and won't for the west is because their tolerance for it is much lower and people have never really had the 'middling idol' supportive mentality in the west. The singing and dancing portion doesn't mean shit to them.
>>
>>115148019
3.0 was such a downgrade but it's not like that zapped her natural talents
can't imagine pandering to lolicons got her burnt out like saba either considering how much crazy shit mint has done in her past
probably is the fact she's accomplished all she can do and is growing more existential about the future, but she is one of only a few talents who could easily survive the death of western vtubing
novel horizons going bust fucked with her circle in particular, which makes me wonder if there's shit we don't know related to that
>>
>>115131234
Anon I do not follow Mori but even I understood she worked for it. Hell she almost fucked up until JP side of Holo fixed up her career by helping her out. She improved after dropping trash twste for example and the EN crowd she hanged out with in Japan.
>>
>>115148019
2024 Mint was peak because it was fresh and a brave new world. Oh? she is traveling with Matara and doing a podcast? fuck yeah
She is doing 3D concerts with Phase, and then with Dokibird? This rules.
Now it is just too much. Sponsors, concerts, opportunries etc there are too many of them than none of them matter now because they all blend together. and it is just back and forth and back and forth on trips and projects and sickness it all blows.
>>
>>115131439

Then the reality is that Hololive was right to bail on the EN scene. If you focus on idols EN is not where it is at. People do not pay for merch or concerts to justify the effort. 1000x worst for an Indie EN idol.
>>
>>115152158
>she is one of only a few talents who could easily survive the death of western vtubing
Hwo so?
She is just as fucked as most of the big indies if even half her regular viewers fuck off. Vtubing is her one and only avenue of kinda fulfilling her idol dreams and that’s only possible because she’s a decently successful streamer.
>>
I know they’re very good friends but do you think she resents kiara every now and then for getting the spot in myth? they both applied for it and they both fill the same niche, white woman wanting to do idol shit who can speak japanese. honestly could’ve been either one of them.

>novel horizons going bust fucked with her circle in particular, which makes me wonder if there's shit we don't know related to that
The only person in her circle who had any business with Novel Horizons was Matara, and even then it was for old merch that had already been fulfilled years ago. Nobody else in her circle (Phoebe, Vicky, Doki, Laimu, Snuffy, Nimi, etc) had any connection to NH.

To be fair, you can't know if they were working on something that hadn't released yet.
>>115155622
You'd be surprised. She's actually decently recognized, but mostly among idols and vtubers. It's actually kind of incredible how many of her idols from back in the day ended up knowing her and then giving her their contact info while she was in japan.
Like half the girls she mentioned in her original debut from 2020 have given her their direct contact info.

Actual nepo hires: Bae, Sana, Irys, Enna, Claude, Shu, Kotoka, Meloco, Jurard (self admitted)
The nepohire gets in because they're friends of existing talents or managers. They usually don't respect or value the position, since they didn't truly work for it in the firrst place. And they have management going way out of their way to run defense for then or shill for then despite not deserving it or being a low earner.

Likely because there is no "exam." Job interviews don't have some mythical multiple choice test where if you answer that you'd want exactly 3 plushies you're instantly hired. At best he got some audition tips that you could find on google.
I'll never understand why that point specifically gets SEA so upset. Have you never had a job interview or taken an audition before?

I have the same thoughts on this. She seems very well liked, has a beautiful voice, seemingly has a lot of great things going for her, she has an infinite amount of people who will back her up with anything, she has a nice fat ass, and she regularly goes on vacations multiple times throughout the year.

Maybe I'm the fucking retarded cunt here, but why is she so sad? Go play some video games or something. I think a reality that many vtubers need to face is that their big projects aren't as important to fans as a normal stream.
>>
>>115175334
Who knows? She may know something she doesn't want to tell us. If that's the case I hope it doesn't blow up into a controversy. No debt, no company issues, no lld's, no fights with others, and of course hope we aren't getting manipulated. Maybe she is tired from working all the time? She has been hitting the concert scene and going to cons a lot and traveling to Japan for the what, 4th time this year? Not to mention she has been doing voice work and merch deals. She could be burning out, maybe a midlife crisis, maybe wants out?

Take the good with the bad.

I see what you mean but the way Jurard said it 100% gave the impression that he got so much insider info to the point it gave him an advantage over other applicants. It's one of the big things that people who dislike Holostars bring up about him other than the hate marketing.

>>115175334
It's a mystery to you and me both.
>Go play some video games or something. I think a reality that many vtubers need to face is that their big projects aren't as important to fans as a normal stream.

Part of the problem probably is they don't feel like they can play the games they want. Call it a shitty theory at this point, but the bigger vtubers are probably terrified of streaming a "debuff" game as far as the algorithms are concerned. Which is a fucking shame since I'd rather watch someone experience something new to them and give their commentary on it than just stream the same fucking streamerbait slop every month.
>>
>>115175749
I remember seeing that clip and not really.
At most it implied he and Ollie knew each other pre-holo, but seriously what possible "insider info" would matter in an audition like this?
Hell, do people really think a mid-tier ID had any kind of pull or insight into the EN male auditions beyond, "yeah just relax, bring a resume, and prepare for generic job questions?"

Past a certain point, is being a numberfag even desireable? People like Mint can live comfortably for the rest of their lives just from the passive income from the investments from their stream income savings, her viewership could drop to 2-view status and she'd still be set no matter what. And doesn't she go on an on about wanting an intimate, personal experience with her fanbase? Attracting tourists by playing FOTM seems antithetical to that goal.
>>
>>115180337
>is being a numberfag even desireable?
Youtube's analytics page pushes numberbraining almost unintentionally. It sounds silly but for some Youtubers its almost like a matter of self esteem or pride if they see their numbers fluctuate a lot. Some handle it better than other but the algorithm is kinda good at making you feel like shit if you ignore its "suggestions".
>>
>>115180337
>Attracting tourists by playing FOTM seems antithetical to that goal.
Not that I don't agree with that, we also have to consider that a portion of her audience DO enjoy that trash because the streamerbait games have basically become expected, and enjoyable to them. It's a really strange situation where there is no clear answer without being able to poll the opinion of a good sample of the watchers. How many are watching because it's their oshi? How many would rather see them play something else but don't feel like they can give that feedback? How many have given up on seeing something different? How many actually like it?

>Call it a shitty theory at this point, but the bigger vtubers are probably terrified of streaming a "debuff" game as far as the algorithms are concerned.
It's not a theory. That's pretty much how it works. Long games, especially JRPGs, tend to be numbers poison if your channel isn't dedicated to them, as well as old games that weren't massive hits.
In theory, you'd want to stick to consistent FOTM if you want to grow, unless you're banking on going viral.

JRPGs i get, since a lot of them are rough to watch. I love some of those games, but they are not very entertaining for an audience and make conversational engagement tough. Some people with an established audience and steady growth have the opportunity to make an off series of longer games, but most choose not to.

>is they don't feel like they can play the games they want.
Of course they cant cause women dont actually enjoy videogames.
They arent men they arent putting hours into their game of choice off stream. Its a rarity for them to play anything off stream unless the games off limit for perms.
Even if they had that one game they actually liked you say stuff like this.
>I'd rather watch someone experience something new to them

Honestly it's not so much JRPGs being hard to watch as them just being too long.
Youtube viewers HATE seeing part 35 of a series because they believe that if they haven't seen parts 1-34, there's no point in watching. You can actually mitigate it slightly by just not numbering things.

This debuff doesn't exist at all on Twitch, though, as the community is used to being randomly jettisoned into a stream mid-game. It's a much better idea to play long games on Twitch for a growing channel and just upload the vods separately so it doesn't poison the main youtube one.

What are you talking about? Male streamers have constantly talked about streamer brain and how it's almost impossible to enjoy most games offstream because in the back of their brain, all they can think is, "I could've been streaming this."

>"I could've been streaming this."
Yea for content to make money. Not cause they actually enjoy the game.
Thats my whole point. You say theres a game they want to play. That game doesnt exist. They just want to play whatever gets them paid cause they dont actually enjoy the game itself. Dont take it to extremes where you think im saying none of them can have fun when streaming a game but its not what they wanted to do.

Many chuuba girls are nerds themselves. My oshi was a League player and was clearly familiar with the game.

You're missing the point.
It's extremely common for streamers to stop being able to enjoy games offline because they can't turn that streamer mode in their brain off. Any game you play offline is a missed opportunity.

not my problem
