My read is that Vedal simply grew out of the VTuber phase once Neuro stopped being a hobby project that happened to make money and became a proper venture he had to actually run.
That is obviously conjecture, and maybe some projection on my part, but it would make sense. Once your own project becomes your job, spending your free time consuming more of the same industry probably loses a lot of its appeal. Add in how repetitive and stagnant and garbagey the wider VTuber scene can feel and I can easily see the appeal wearing off.
And honestly, how many people remain genuinely invested in ordinary VTubers for years and years? Eventually you notice the same formats, the same bits, the same collabs, the same dynamics, just with different models attached.

I knew it couldn't be true, but there was a part of me that really hoped the Vedalverse would be a harem anime in real life.

Although, in a lot of ways, it was. It had all the cliches, tropes, flags raised, a multitude of dere types, and a lot of character development. It just didn't end how most harems end; there was no ending.
