It's really sad. These people are alone in their real lives, so they find women online to think of as their girlfriends instead, and start to interpret all of their actions as those of a girlfriend. Then they feel justified in feeling jealous or betrayed when they just go about their personal lives.
And yes, a lot of those women are taking advantage of this, but you as a grown man should know better and understand that it's just roleplay. Personally I can sympathise with them over the loneliness, but VTubers have never seemed to me to be a good substitute for a girlfriend.
