>>8129145where in Japan is this?
>>8130142Not that anon but searching the confectionary shop opposite the 7 Eleven (和菓子処 おかふじ) gave me this address7-43 Imaiminamicho, Nakahara Ward, Kawasaki, Kanagawa 211-0064, JapanStreet view on Google Maps is daytime so a very different vibe from this shot. Still neat though
I'll be going back in a month and a half; can't waitHopefully I'll get to bring back some pretty pictures
While it's still winter
First time on my own (bringing someone new to the country); hopefully my japanese will be good enough, but I've been studying
fuck me but those pictures are getting old; that's 2019
Up
Took this 3 years ago in Tokyo. I wanna go back so bad.
This was from my honeymoon to Japan back in the summer of 2024'. This trip absolutely FUCKED me up. I'm considering this to have been the peak of my life at this point. The last day before we flew back to the states, my wife had a medical emergency and needed emergency surgery in a hospital in Kyoto. She pulled through, but it was a bowel resection and we had to stay for another 2 1/2 weeks. It was then 2 1/2 weeks on my own in Kyoto, in the Ryokan we were staying at, and it was both the scariest yet most beautiful time of my life. By myself for that long, drinking at Izakayas, walking the streets of the city. If you put me there now, I could guide you on foot to most places, I guarantee it. Shortly after this trip, my dad got a stage 4 gallbladder cancer diagnosis. He's still around, but he just recently got a year to live diagnosis. So many other things have gotten worse in my life since then, this trip feels like the last time things felt good and positive in general. I know this mindset isn't healthy, but it's hard to not think like this. My one goal is to eventually become fluent in Japanese so that in the future, I can go back, look up the surgeon again that treated my wife, and do a whole "You may not remember me..." bit and treat him to dinner. Anyway, this was one of the pictures that sticks out in my mind from the trip. Hope others enjoy it.
>>8132134Bittersweet memory and a noble reason to learn japanese. How expensive was it? Could someone working a retail job afford it?
>>8132134Thanks for sharing anon. The story and the picture. Hopefully you'll be able to find him and I hope things will get better for you.
any comfy japanese countryside wallpapers?

secret cat in this one
Maybe I overfixated in that spot a littleGood thing I came back a couple days after to take even more pictures
100% sure I've taken better pictures from this spot, but it'll be a while until I actually edit them, so it'll be a surprise whether or not I should have posted this one
This thread is beautiful, thank you guys
finished editing Ozu; that's that donebacklit scenes like this one are always the hardest to deal with, it's basically like editing two different pictures at once, and I only slightly overfixated during my visit of the Matsui residence
