All I can say is try to celebrate the times you have or had instead of what could have been

I lost my dad. Fondly remember the precious times we had together near the end. Just be there for him.

I lost my dad a few years ago. If I could give you a couple of advices:
> stay with him as much as you can
> if you have any questions about his life, his memories, how his childhood was, etc. now is the time to ask them

use it as fuel. be the person you want to be

If therapy is an option everyone in the family should consider it. But comments above are the most important, spend as much time together and talk as much as you can. Read books and watch videos about philosophy, psycology and religion to find answers to your questions. Best of luck

I'm so sorry, receiving news like that is incredibly hard. I went through the same thing last year, and based on my own experience, here's some advice I'd give you:

1. If you need to put your life on hold for a few months, think about how to do it in a way that lets you pick things back up once this is behind you.
2. Remember your father only gets to pass once in your life — honor him the way he deserves.
3. If you can bring some joy to his last days, even at some cost to your own, do it.
4. If you're going to mourn your father, do it while he's still here — once he's gone, there's no one left to mourn for.

I did almost everything I felt was reasonable so my dad could leave this world knowing he was loved and that he wasn't alone.

I'm sorry to head that op. Is tough losing a loved one you have to stay strong.
