>>6158918OK, I'll bite.First, that clip is obviously edited to be far longer than the actual scene in the movie. You can't tell this because you're inexperienced, uncultured, and stupid.Second, context. Taking a scene like this without the movie that leads up to it is meaningless. This would be obvious to anyone with an IQ over 85, which you seemingly do not possess. You are a zoomer goylem, and I strongly suggest you stick to your intellectual lane. By which I mean, in simpler terms, fuck off back to Tiktok and never come back.
Loved this scene from a Hitchcock I watched last night
>>6160892Enjoyable movie. You might also like Strangers on a Train if you haven't seen it already.webm unrelated
>>6160898Strangers on a Train is one of my favourite Hitchcocks, I've seen most of them now.
>>6160919Perhaps you've seen more than me since I've seen a smattering. Got any recommendations on the older stuff, leaning toward the black and white era?
>>6160986Depends what you're after really. From the B&W era, don't sleep on Rebecca - a little more feminine-centric but it's really solid. The Lady Vanishes is fun, and Sabotage (not to be confused with Saboteur) gives a great insight into early Hitchcock.
>>6160898This clip gives me serious Horne Brothers from Twin Peaks vibes.IYKYK
>>6160996Thanks anon, will check them out since I haven't seen any of them. I didn't have anything specific in mind but out of the Hitchcock movies I've seen I like the older stuff more.
>>6161002Oh? I find Hitchcock isn't so much hit or miss, more hit or mid, but which modern films have you seen that you didn't rate so much?I will say that in my personal opinion Rear Window, which is often cited as one of his best, is massively overrated and one of his weakest efforts. Birds is really good but not his usual style so it's divisive.
>>6161054Don't get me wrong, I don't think the newer stuff is bad necessarily, but The Birds, Vertigo, Psycho, and Torn Curtain were less interesting than Strangers on a Train and Shadow of a Doubt. I did really like North by Northwest though. I haven't seen a lot of the older ones so I'm just kinda interested and wanted a recommendation for something to watch this weekend.
>>6161070Each to their own. North by Northwest is certainly one of my favourites too, but I think Vertigo is his masterpiece. I would suggest Rope and Dial M for Murder as well, though they skew a little older. I think the latter is in colour but I honestly can't remember - it's funny I tend to find I remember good B&W films in colour.Oh, The 39 Steps is another good one. Best bet is just to watch them all!
>>6161086Thanks anon. You gave me a list that'll last quite a while.
>>6160093That's a very good webm. Even the loop. Impressed
