Damn, the crime is bad in Brazil but I was more terrified of the showers there. One of them gave a (to me) pretty unpleasant shock when I tried to adjust the temp, but the owner of the place tried it out and said "no, that's normal here, we don't need to fix it".
A friend of a friend had to be flown back home from a holiday there, due to being electrocuted by their shower, and was disabled afterwards.

He was using a tile cutter blade

DISCLAIMER: I’m assuming he was using one. Which is why I think it spun out of control on him like that. It’s not supposed to be sharp, but heavily weighted so it can grind the tile/grout along with water to keep the dust sludgy and cool the blade.

Again…I’m ASSUMING that’s what happened. I’d appreciate someone else chiming in who knows more

Just report and demand sometimes be show up NOW. But keep that window up. Don’t warn them before hand because they’ll just split and leave, then come back tomorrow, or next week. Call emergency services and don’t explain it to the dispatcher; literally tell them there’s an emergency health situation, take their operator ID# and tell that that you’ll be waiting for help to get there. Call back if they’re not there in 5 minutes. And then call back again.

We need more men like that guy.

In first world countries we have infrastructure repairs shedules.
Say for example 100 of those towers were constructed, monthly each of those towers would be fully inspected, repaired etc on a rotation.
I would expect in fact all off them are inspected annually.
Like these type of constructions are regalvanized every few years to prevent rust.
Shit that doesnt even have galvanization on it, just paint, which doenst even look like metal paint.
because iits a third world country.

>>
>>6196088

It's all fucking baffling. It's a wire between that tower and the helicopter. Did the heli put something in place, or hold the tower up while they secured two guy lines, and instead of a release they had a strangely long cable hanging from it? Strangely long but not long enough for the helicopter to then land without detaching which appears to be what they were trying to do. Fucking what?
>>
>>6199659
Grounded neutral?
>>
>>6199659
if it's an LED bulb the capacitive link to ground can be enough to make it flash or faintly glow. not sure if that's what's happening, looks too energetic, but I have observed ungrounded LED bulbs faintly glowing with just a single phase voltage applied

I have no related videos (sorry), but when I was maybe 13 or 14, my dad had me help him put tin siding on someone's barn in the wind. A gust caught a sheet I was trying to hold down for him (rickety ladder) and it ripped past me, right past my neck, shoulders, head, etc. An inch or two closer and I would not be typing here today.
I also got brought onto a tractor ride, I was a similar age, dad wanted to show me it, and he reached over and shut the door on the side for me, but my finger was close enough that it caught the skin on the tip of it and pulled off a clean few layers. Again, a few inches more and I'd have lost the finger, or fingers.
Had a lot of things like that I guess. Someone slammed a car door on my head when I was like 7, they didn't like me much. Fell down a half-mile hill, slamming the whole way, and fell into a frozen dugout in the middle of winter. Took a mile+ to get home, friends had to practically carry me.

That's a LOT more clear. So the guy yanking the cable, was he trying to detach it because it was going to get in the rotors anyway or did he just fuck that whole thing up by jumping instead of waiting for it to come down? I think if the helicopter was planning to land that was going to happen no matter what.

Yea it has to be aluminum. Temperature, color, how the files cut into it, how the fillings look, and material source all suggest aluminum. Mind you the source material being what appears to be cheap motor casings, suggests it is among the lowest quality aluminum sources. It has likely been recycled several times and likely has lead, mercury, cadmium, and basically all other possible metal contaminants. Because those sorts of contaminants aren't much of a factor for a motor casing.

Lumber is smaller than its dimension because its an organic material that ages, you fucking retard. It's the same as meat being weighed raw. Buildings are designed with strength of materials analysis and the materials can't be shrinkflated.
>>
>>6205551
I did some renovations and older (aged 60 years) 2x4s are really thicker, if you build a drywall with older and newer 2x4s together it won't be flush.
>>
>>6205551
Wrong on all counts. The difference between actual and nominal lumber dimensions have nothing to do with aging, and shrinkflation is common in building materials. 2x4s used to be closer to their nominal dimensions but are now more like 1.5x3.5". 5/8" drywall used to be standard, now it's 1/2". Sold wood doors used to be standard. Now most are hollow or foam core. Plumbing used to be copper, now it's PEX. Literally everything is cheaper, lower quality, and less durable than it was a few decades ago.

The official reason nominal lumber sizes are bullshit is that they're the rough cut dimensions. Then they take off more material during finish milling. But because they don't let the wood age before milling anymore, they have to take off more material to make it straight. Or so they claim. But measurement imbecility is endemic in the US construction industry. No dimension on 1/2" nominal pipe is actually 0.5 inches. No dimension on a 3/4-16 bolt is actually 0.75 inches. For some reason, blue collar Americans just like to give things names that sound like sizes but aren't really.

Extremely shitty back cut (you can see it slide off); exactly 0 attempt to trim weight off the back lean; pull line with nobody pulling; and most importantly, these retards took a pointless fucking risk with that monster in order to cut a corner.

Any time I had to drop something like that if I wasn't absolutely 100% confident I would INSIST that at least some of the weight get taken off and that the pull line be placed at the apex with at least two guys on it. Yeah climbing can be scary but dropping thousands of pounds of lumber is way more dangerous.

wood is essentially a series of rigid tubes bound together, these sorts of structures are good at taking tension forces
