9/11 feels different this year. I don't really have the guts to joke about it today unlike the previous decade. Can't really describe it, the vibe this year is just different.

Right hero, wrong time. He could've saved them.
>>6232323Same here. I can definitely feel the vibe shift. I don’t know if you’ve seen the 25YearsAgoLive Twitter account, but their as-it-happened coverage of yesterday felt like a good insight into how 9/11 felt in the moment. The comments were especially interesting. At first it was typical jokes and memes, but as videos of attacks, the jumpers, and the stories of survivors, victims, and rescuers continued to be posted, the memes became less frequent and received less likes and the comments became a lot more solemn and serious.
i've never understood why some people make fun of it
The entire point of "dark humor" is to make light of things that are taboo to joke about, like rape and shit. The 25-year mark and the aging audience are probably factors as well, but I think that now that there are widespread, "morally acceptable" targets for edgy remarks such as the late Kirk, the concept's whole "forbidden" appeal just fell apart.

>>6232795The solid redpilling that's taken place with normies over the past 2 years has put a lot into perspective. The shit in Iran has shone a spotlight on Iraq and "muh WMDs" too. People seem to understand the tinyhatters did 9/11 and lied to get us into Iraq.
>>6233114if you're a kike
>>6232950Additionally, I think part of what makes 9/11 jokes less funny now is that the people making them are a bunch of nons and leftists who aren't doing it for the dark humor, they genuinely find it funny and think America deserved it for bombing oh-so-precious poor, innocent brownoid countries. People like Hasan Piker and his audience.
>>6233231I don't disagree that it was used as a very convenient casus belli to invade Iraq, but I'm skeptical that Israel was somehow behind the attacks. Maybe they knew more than they told us, but even then I don't think they really knew much. They did give us a list of suspects before the attacks which had the names of 4 of the hijackers. Honestly the US government probably had the most info about a potential attack than anyone, but no one really knew who, how, or when it was gonna happen until it was too late.
>>6233532You're level headed anon, that's refreshing. Conspiracy fatigue is real, the mental gymnastics of believing all conspiracy is tiring. There's nuance, sure. I like you anon, good post. The older I get the more I circle back around to shit happening the way it did, but that there are small outliers that don't flat out mean conspiracy.
