I am seeking recommendations for media like Oregairu that is all about the characters and focus on character drama and growth, complex characters and deeper psychology behind it.

>I have already seen Evangelion and am looking for something a little less heavy and edgy lol

I am open to anime, video games, books, and film. Thank you.

Monogatari the anime/LN is also psychology and character depth i think
Bunny girl senpai/world only god knows is a weaker flavour of monogatari i suppose

Funnily enough, I'm almost finished with the 'gatari series, at least the books that have been published for North America.
I like it for what it is, but in terms of character relations and subtext, I wouldn't put it on quite the same level. Maybe the anime is different, I don't know.

>Psychological
I think I misspoke. I mean like, emotional, or a story that focuses on what the characters are truly feeling, and focuses on their growth. The word "psychological" these days seems to carry connotations of 2deep4u in a pseudo-intellectual kind of way that insists on itself. For example, I did not enjoy Evangelion, lol.

Try Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata.
It's a fully adapted romance/drama, which I quite liked.

spice and wolf has the main characters negotiate and unify their perspectives on love and relationships. However they are too rational to let emotion to cloud that lucid discussion, so I don't think it's what you are looking for.

Thank you, this one has been on my watch list for a while.

I love Spice and Wolf. I have seen the whole show and its reboot, and read some of the book. Spice and Wolf is actually a lot closer to what I'm looking for.

You want a show that just completely copies and pastes its second season into its third?
