I'm looking for a piece by french composer Camille Saint Saens. Heard it once in my dad's car and I've never been able to find it since. It has a very distinctive melody with a very expressive violin lead. It sounded close to his Danse Macabre except more happy and elegant.
I wrote the first measures of the melody from memory in my daw. It sounded something like this: https://vocaroo.com/17uSfvCUH1qN
Don't remember too much about the other details: piece was in major, either in 2/4 or 4/4, tempo was on the faster side.

have you tried asking your father.
