Looking for comics that have,>Action>Hot chicks>Character driven storyBut doesn't have,>Multiverse(s)>Time travel>Hell/demons>Fates worse than death>Long term illusions or delusionsPic unrelated
>>1567270CybersixBelladonna (French Belladone) by Ange (Anne Guéro), assasins, sword swashbuckling during the monarchyWake, (French Sillage) - first few stories only, thereafter writing gets boringIf you accept anthropomorphic rabbit samurai: Usagi Yojimbo
>>1567301Thank you.Man the French really are good with comics. It's unfair a lot of their stuff doesn't get translated; I saw Notre Mere La Guerre recommended years ago but can't read French.
>>1567270>>Multiverse(s)>>Time travel>>Hell/demons>>Fates worse than death>>Long term illusions or delusions>Pic unrelatedHmm, that does narrow it down a bit.You don't want the multiverse, but are you fine with basic isekai? I'd have recomended Kill Six Billion Demons based on the title of your thread, but it may break at least 3/4 different requirements you have.
>>1567322>Hmm, that does narrow it down a bit.Tell me about it.>You don't want the multiverse, but are you fine with basic isekai? Yeah that sounds alright. By multiverse(s) I namely mean infinite versions of the same characters.
>>1567270>>Action>>Hot chicks>>Character driven storyso it has to have all 3 of these, right? >>1567327wanting action but no demons/hell probably narrows things noticable amount. Most comics don't center around it, but fighting demons is a pretty common trope in fiction. The first 3 requirements aren't that restrictive though.
>>1567270I’ll post a bunch of western (web)comics for you in an hour or so. I’m going to have dinner .
I think "The Strange Talent of Luther Strode" would count for you. This ones a physical comic. Very violent. It's got 2 sequels:The Legend of Luther Strode (2012-2013)and The Legacy of Luther Strode (2015-2016)
>>1567270EnnuiGo?Might not be for everyone though.
>>1567270Tell us what you think of the recs you get OP.>>1567301Cybersix is on my to read list. It apparently has a cartoon version too.The name sounds a lot like cybersex, is that intentional?
This is a well regarded comic. Won many awards:https://www.girlgeniusonline.com/newreaders.phpNot as good. But might be worth a read for you:https://www.grrlpowercomic.com/archives/comic/gp0001/A lot of fanservice.
https://www.snarlbear.com/comic/chapter-one-coverThis started in 2012 and is complete. only would take you a few hours at most to read. It's good. One of my Favorites.
>>1567356>so it has to have all 3 of these, right? Yeah, preferably. I guess either hot chicks or character driven story could be dropped, but not both. So like, a character driven war story with no hot chicks'd be fine, or a world driven action story with hot chicks would be fine, but not a world driven action story without hot chicks.>wanting action but no demons/hell probably narrows things noticable amount.I get that, but demon stuff stresses me the fuck out. The only way I tolerate it is if it's not!demons; like, horned humanoids who aren't inherently evil and don't come from a nightmare realm of eternal suffering, but just get called demons due to their horns. That's alright.>>1567363Thank you! To my surprise, I guess I had this bookmarked years ago.Question; Wikipedia mentions 'Judeo-Christian references' weaved into the narrative. You sure it doesn't contain Hell or demons?>>1567366Thanks but that art is rough.>>1567368>Tell us what you think of the recs you get OP.I'm a slow reader so I'm not sure I'll fully read more than one while this thread is up, but Cybersix, Belladonna, Wake and Luther Strode seem good to me. Belladonna and Wake seem the best to me at a glance, but I'm just trying to find where to read Belladonna.
>>1567376Thank you but I'm not a fan of the art for either.I should elaborate; I made this thread after trying Irredeemable, loving the art, only to get frustrated that it contained all five of the things that stress me out/frustrate me. I'd been thinking I'd found a solution to Marvel/DC, which both inherently contain those five things, only to be disappointed again. And like, Marvel/DC aren't the only ones containing this stuff. Dark Horse's Aliens franchise frequently contains fates worth than death (Aliens: Labyrinth practically turned me off the entire franchise). I don't think I even need to mention Hellboy. I did kinda like John Arcudi's first three The Mask series, though, but it got worse as it went on.So basically I'm also looking for publisher-quality art, if that makes sense. I'm sorry if that sounds picky, but part of this thread stemmed from liking the typical published western comic books art style while having virtually no stories with it I actually like. No knocks to the webcomic artists; you can tell just how much their art improves overtime, but it's not what I'm looking for/thinking of.
>>1567388>Thank you! To my surprise, I guess I had this bookmarked years ago.>Question; Wikipedia mentions 'Judeo-Christian references' weaved into the narrative. You sure it doesn't contain Hell or demons?I'm pretty sure it doesn't. Though a few characters from the bible show up at some points.

So like, a character driven war story with no hot chicks'd be fine, or a world driven action story with hot chicks would be fine, but not a world driven action story without hot chicks.I see, so action is the most central of those 3. >>1567388>Thanks but that art is rough. The art of EnnuiGO gets a LOT better later on, but yeah the early art isn't anything special.
>>1567389>Thank you but I'm not a fan of the art for either. That's understandable.>I should elaborate; I made this thread after trying Irredeemable, loving the art, only to get frustrated that it contained all five of the things that stress me out/frustrate me. It changes significantly over the the course of the comic, though after a certain point it's mostly lateral move in my eyes (not getting better or worse).I personally think the art for Girl Genius is good (and so do a lot of people), but its also very cartoony in a way that may not be to everyone's taste. It actually is a published series and they're in the library of congress. Won multiple hugo awards, etc.

Time travel and multiverses actually unsettle me as well; time travel where you can erase people from existence and multiverses where existence is seemingly meaningless because there are infinite versions of everyone.>I personally think the art for Girl Genius is good (and so do a lot of people), but its also very cartoony in a way that may not be to everyone's taste. >>1567405Are you fine with time loops?
>>1567406I can tolerate them so long as the loop doesn't start too long before activation. Like, a day tops.I'm also alright with the Novikov self-consistency principle, ie "Harry Potter rules." I know it freaks some people out due to determinism, but determinism is way less upsetting for me than the possibility of anybody being erased from existence at any time via the butterfly effect.

There are devils, but they're definitely not inherently evil. Their souls are made from different stuff than humans (and their rulers are jerks). It has a multiverse, but the dimensions are all unique. There aren't actual hells in the sense of eternal torment, but some urban sections of a city in one dimension are called hells. However there are few important caveats which may reduce your interest:However at some points in the plot it does get into stuff about existence being meaningless and trying to find purpose despite that which might not be something you want to see. It might be depressing. It goes into determinism. Also spoiler for a pretty big twist. Here's a good action comic. https://tenearthshatteringblows.com/archives/comic/1x01Idk if either of the female leads are what you'd consider hot. Definitely character driven.
https://www.webtoons.com/en/thriller/hand-jumper/ep-1-beginning-of-the-end/viewer?title_no=2702&episode_no=1Hand jumper is a good webtoon. Official blurb:>Sayeon Lee despises Aberrants. They wreak havoc on society with their strange, unthinkable powers. It's just too bad she happens to be an Aberrant herself! Forced to fend for her life in the deadly Aberrant Corps, she's determined to make it to the top, and her unusual ability should help her -- if she can figure out how to use it in time. It is western, the english language version is the original. It's just clearly manhwa/anime inspired. I think the author is also of korean decent. The thing about webtoons is that they're vertical scrolling which you may not like. It's not really the case in this one, but some of the official partnered series suffer in the art department due to having to put out big episodes each week.>>1567407Important caveat is that this story is about a girl with the power to rewind time. I don't remember exactly how long she can rewind, but it's not a lot though. I think its a a minute or so at the max.
Some of the stuff I will post from webtoons might be intended for older audiences and want you to log in. There's no age verification required for accounts, but if you don't want to login to webtoons, you can easily get around that age-gate on desktop by doing the following.>When you get to this pop up (as shown in pic related), click "Yes" then quickly press the "Esc" key on your keyboard.>Pressing the Esc key stops the page from reloading and taking you to the login page. The pop up will disappear and you can continue reading
>>1567410>Hand jumper is a good webtoon.to be more specific, it is one of my favorite comics.>Important caveat is that this story is about a girl with the power to rewind time. I don't remember exactly how long she can rewind, but it's not a lot though. I think its a a minute or so at the max.i have no idea if this is just a wild guess or an actual risk: but there's always going to be the chance in these kind of superpower style stories that you'll have someone with even stronger time rewinding powers, or someone who can do more overt time fuckery.

Another one of my favorites:official Blurb:>A deadbeat drug addict with seemingly supernatural luck gets a job babysitting the daughter of the city's local grim reaperhttps://www.webtoons.com/en/canvas/deathsitter/deathsitter/viewer?title_no=293285&episode_no=1Hard for me to explain more without spoilers. I like the art on this comic a lot. The art in the first 2 chapters is notably different in style from the rest of the comic (and the cover).
OP here; should mention pic related is a comic I did enjoy. It doesn't have hot chicks but it did have action and was character driven, despite having no dialogue.I also purchased One Path recently. Still waiting for it to arrive, dunno if I'll like it but seems up my alley.
>>1567416There is a completed comic on webtoons about t-rexs, but its behind paywall now:https://www.webtoons.com/en/graphic-novel/darbi/list?title_no=1098
blurb:>Dani and Dorian have missed the bus of the school of magic. Now, they must find someone who teach them how to be a great and good witches... Or maybe not.https://www.webtoons.com/en/fantasy/hooky/list?title_no=425This one is completed and available in print. It's behind a paywall on webtoons now. I think it meets your requirements, but its been years since i read it. There is action, but It's a lot more kid friendly than everything else I posted.
