So I tried 2 versions of pcsx2:
pcsx2-v1.7.5776 and pcsx2-v2.6.3.
In the first one the async mix works perfectly not slowing the game in cutscenes due to audio synchronization using async mix (I downloaded an older version following the advice of a reddirfag and it worked for me) but during cutscenes with fire or water like the sorrow fight it drops the fps to 20.
Meanwhile the newer version does not have async mix, all cutscenes and graphics work wonderfully but due to audio synchronization it slows down the game a lot, tweaking with the audio reading guides didn't help at all.
Is there any workaround?
Specs: (it's a laptop)
Debian 13.
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6820HQ (8) @ 3.60 GHz
GPU 1: NVIDIA Quadro M2000M [Discrete]
32gb RAM.
So far replaying on the newer version of pcsx2 and apart from some cutscenes the game runs a lot better.

Debian default kernel is not optimized for gaming,

try getting putting a new kernel on the thing
like xanmod
>https://xanmod.org/

get the linux-xanmod-x64v3
>x64v3 is the thing where the kernel is built using more instructions on your cpu

it could help.

or try live booting on of those gaming oriented linux distros, and see if it runs smoothly there
>catchyOS?

also I have no idea how to do this on Debian, could be simple or really messy, since you would also need to build the NVIDIA drivers
you are using nvidia drivers right?

>me personally I use archbtw

Yeah I doubt it's the kernel, how do you explain that on an older version of pcsx2 it works perfectly with async audio mix but not timestretch?
>xanmod, live booting catchyOS, arch
I can smell that you are south american from here.

um, ok.

good luck with being an insufferable faggot for the rest of your life.

I truly pity your family and friends (if you even have any)
