My Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM010 (1TB) suddenly stopped being recognized today.Over the past few weeks, it had been getting noticeably slower whenever I tried to access files. During reads, I also occasionally heard a grinding/clicking-type noise.Yesterday, the drive still appeared in Windows Disk Management as Unknown/Unrecognized, but today it doesn't show up there at all.Current symptoms:On power-up, I hear a grinding noise for a few seconds, then it stops and the drive continues spinning normally.I recorded the startup noise here: https://voca.ro/15jBhXD3N8gDThe PCB looks clean with no visible burn marks or damaged components.I opened the drive for inspection (I know this isn't recommended), and the platter looks clean with no obvious scratches or contamination. The inside looks almost new.I cleaned the actuator and spindle motor contacts using an eraser followed by isopropyl alcohol, but it made no difference.I have a multimeter, but I don't have much experience testing HDD electronics. Are there any troubleshooting steps I can try, such as checking specific PCB components or taking voltage/resistance measurements?I did look into professional data recovery, but it's unfortunately far beyond my budget, so I'm trying to see if there's anything I can do myself before giving up on it.I've also attached photos of the inside of the drive in case they help.
