Where can I download Doctor Who The Collection blu-rays, those of the classic seasons? There are 19 of them currently released, and I only see 5 of them on some private(-ish) tracker I'm on. I'd rather not drop a grand on them if possible, but I don't mind paying pirates for a high-speed download as those BD rips are absolute chonkers.I could get access to privatehd if they're on there as I'm on a sister site, but I have no way of checking.

>>1571193Not quite, these are the old SD (or worse) bundles, and "The Collection" is specifically the blu-ray series. I have since found more of them on various random trackers, though they're not well-seeded.But speaking of the seasons not yet on BD, I do wonder which are the least worst releases of them available. I guess the DVDs in most cases, Britbox and iPlayer rips seem to be really blurry.
>>1571194As far as I know classic Who was mastered on magnetic broadcast tape (SD), in other words no higher quality exists. The only way to "improve" it is upscaling, but realistically I think you're already seeing as good as it's gonna get. The bluray would technically just be sd reencoded at 1080, but not higher quality, in actual fact reencoding it would technically lose quality.
>>1571203My hope is that the BDs are less bit-starved than the prior SD releases, at least for the post-Pertwee seasons where better masters exist than cassette recordings found in garages. The BD for S2 really does look worse than the DVD...Upscales do suck, I wish BBC knew about Discotek's SDBD anime releases.

There used to be DDL websites with these but I can't find them anymore
