I'm working on a visual novel and I reworked a character's sprite set because I wasn't satisfied with how the original looked.
Looking at the two bases shown here, which do you prefer, or put in other words if you hate furries, which one do you despise the least at a glance? I'm nearing release and this would help me gauge audience perception of this here character, they say not to judge a book by its cover but that rule obviously doesn't apply in a medium called VISUAL novels

The first sprite looks more three dimensional, while the second sprite reads as more flat. His (?) face shape is more defined on the left and the hair flows more naturally atop the skull rather than looking plastered on, for instance.

Please don't take this harshly, but they're basically the same outside of the slight head turn in terms of quality and substance. And in that case, the one on the left is more dynamic. The one on the right seems a lot more flat because of where it's looking. You could honestly use both, though. It looks like the character just slightly turned their head, which could be good for some scenes.

Right looks shit.

Right has the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic feeling invocated if that fits your theme

Oh... Well at least I'll know in advance what reaction to expect, haha... Thank you for your input regardless, I appreciate your honesty
