>>1572325Read Devilman and the first seven volumes of Violence Jack, the other volumes are good but the first part is amazing. Go Nagai's entire 70s catalog is good really and the characters all intersect with each other in various ways.
>>1572325Blade of Immortal by Hiroaki Samura. It's good. I think Dark Horse Comics is/was the publisher here in the West. 206 chapters.Battle Angel Alita (GUNNM), 51 chaptersBattle Angel Alita: Last Order, 124 chaptersBattle Angel Alita: Mars Chronicle, 56 chaptersBattle Angel Alita: Panzer Kunst Chronicle, 3 chapters so farYou can find all of these at Weebcentral.
>>1572325>I'm completely new to manga. The only Manga I've ever read is Berserk and it's probably my favorite thing of all time.>Where do I start? What are some of the best manga? That's kinda saying you are new to television series and asking where to start. It's quite open ended. Manga vary a lot in themes, like any medium. It's not all gonna be as dark (or as good) as berserk.Since other people already gave you some recs as a starting point, this won't hurt to ask. What other forms of entertainment and shows do you like? What genres do you like? If you read western comics, what types do you like?
>>1572325>The only Manga I've ever read is Berserk and it's probably my favorite thing of all time.I think Berserk is the best, there is nothing better in my opinion.
>>1572325I'm a big fan of Naoki Urasawa's stuff. Best being 20th Century Boys, Monster, and Pluto (latter two have anime adaptations, but the first doesn't).
>>1572327Just bought, will start reading now. >>1572350I prefer physical a lot more than digital. I just can’t get into digital like I can with an actual copy. I’ll only actually buy a couple series for now though.>>1572458>What other forms of entertainmentI love videogames as a medium for being interactive, television for choreography and whatnot. These are both the most enjoyable for me. For shows, Better call Saul, Sopranos, Twin peaks are the best imo. For anime in terms of what’s the “greatest” in the medium for me, probably Cowboy Bebop, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, GTO, Initial D, Samurai Shampoo>What genres do you likeI love crime, dark fantasy, and cyberpunk. I don’t know how to explain, but Homunculus seems really cool in the fact that it’s art is this realistic suburban city. Stuff like that seems cool, and I’m gonna check out homunculus.I don’t really read Western Comics, but I do like Conan the Barbarian a lot.

>>1572325The climber. But dont read it if youre going to buy it. Mangadex has an updated scan. Also dont buy every single manga. It gets expensive really fast. Every enthusiast gets to a point where they have to find a way to consume for free
>>1573022>Also dont buy every single manga. It gets expensive really fast. Every enthusiast gets to a pointAlso you WILL encounter something that literally everyone says is perfect and looks like exactly what you'll love, and discover that you fucking hate it. You have to try a little before you buy. If digital is unacceptable check your local public library t. bought the NGE DVD boxset for $100 25 years ago
