I remember reading a story on /x/ many years ago, probably pre-2013. The story was about a boy with a father who owned a bird named "Absolom". I dont remember much about the plot but it left a weird feeling of wonder, curiosity and melancholy. The timeline in the story i believe was the narrators entire childhood and youth, but I could be wrong on that.The story itself was not a creepy pasta but rather a recollection from a boy that had certain experiences with his father and that bird, and many other things aswell. Some of the events in the story had a kind of supernatural vibe to them but the narrator always tried to rationalise what happen. Ive been searching for the story quite some time, but most of my memory of it is just the feeling it left me, not the plot itself.
