Any good youtube videos that explain modern discord etiquette or just guides on making internet friends in general?

Why should anyone teach AI bot how to better pretend as human?

Not all the internet is the same, etiquette here is much diffrent from reddit, an IRC chat, or a discord server, in any forum you are just lurk moar and get used to the culture, it's ok to ask stuff that you don't understand but in a forum full of trolls expect to be trolled.

Here are weird ones I noticed:
1. Say hi and introduce yourself. They don’t like lurkers.
2. Don’t criticize games/tv/movies/etc., especially the ones the discord server is about.
3. Use the correct pronouns. Discord is pro-tranny.
4. Don’t argue with older members and the mods. Bunch of psychos.
5. Too many kids. They don’t like old people.
6. Too many pajeets and SEAniggers. They don’t behave like humans.
I find these true to many discord servers, big and small. Very disgusting. I just decided to quit discord. I couldn’t stand it.

So it's the lurk moar adage all the way down huh...

Thanks anon, I did manage to find one where troon stuff is not the norm. It's surprisingly normal, but there are people who are too "social" and I don't know how to engage with them.
I know I'm going to be forced to engage because we have a similar interest.

I also see people getting dragged into cringe arguments I want no part in and wouldn't know how to disengage if I somehow got roped into it. But discord people seem to hate lurkers as you say, so it's a dilemma.

Just tell them you dont wanna be part oft this argument? Like literally "i have no interest in this discussion rn" honesty prevails you would be astonished
When people say just bee yourself, they mean to be honest, its no shame saying no to a discussion you didnt start

Just dont join huge public servers and you won't have this issue
>>
I just wanna find people to play co-op games with or watch anime and movies, but I'm a foid so most internet users, male, either are awkward about talking, dont share interests or want to crack

If you're over a certain age and don't already belong to a friend group you're probably fucked, simple as that. One exception is if you get into some specific hobby (that is not just watching anime in general or playing video games in general) and get decent enough at it. That gives you something to talk about without suddenly trying to break into a circlejerk chatting on its own wavelength for years.

How normal is it to reveal your real first name on 'cords? I've been an anonymous guy and don't have a stable nickname so I figured I might just use my first name. People need to call you something and I've always remembered people better by name instead of some potentially cringe handle.

Makes sense, thanks anon.

That is my situation, that's why I want to learn all the pitfalls so I don't squander this opportunity to find a nice community.
