A few days ago i started having an issue with .mp4 and .webm files here on 4chan, it seems like if i try to open a thread with too many of those files in it then i can't actually open the files themself. I don't know what the limit for this is nor how long i have to wait/what i have to do to be able to open the files again. If i try to open the file in a new window i get a white tab with the text "Too Many Requests". When this started happening i hadn't changed anything about my PC or my internet in a long time, is it the website being shit then?

Try disabling your browser extensions and then see if it still happens

That did work, i did assume it was an extension but i couldn't think of which or why since none of them have updated in a while. However i will note that all files would open in a new tab without any extensions, that may just be a Firefox thing, not sure but don't think it matters much either.

Have had a walk and a think now and after further testing i think it might have been one of my Violentmonkey scrips that for some reason or another just started to fuck things up. Thanks mate.

Which OS and version of Firefox? I notice that the mp4 files don't auto-play unless I enable auto-play for the site; Little button next to the shield to the left of the URL.

So you're running multiple scripts that preload images before you click them?

Had a similar issue a few months ago, had to disable prefetching on one of my browsers.
