what adblock are you using? it's ublock origin here, I disabled it for pawchive for a moment and the one tab that opened (while annoying due to stealing focus) got blocked, picrel.
assuming you're on ublocko, maybe it's a regional thing? us visitors being served a more aggressive and malicious set of ads than europe, is that a possibility?

semirelated, I should look into rss bridges for pawchive again. I tire of checking manually, and not having to access the site directly reduces ad vectors to zero
