Help me man, I just installed windows 10 ltsc enterprise 2021 on my laptop and now my external monitor doesn’t even get the signal, and I have this issue since like weeks, and my mom won’t do shit and she was angry at me for not opening the laptop to see something inside, my laptop was once fixed in feb 2024, although the laptop took a year to be fixed due to my parents being retarded, I hope I didn’t lost my files on my laptop, also my laptop doesn’t have a screen as I accidentally broken the display. My laptop specs:Model: Samsung Laptop NP270ESGWindows 10 Home 22H2 CPU: Intel Core i5-3230M, 2.60 GHz RAM: 8 GB (7.88 GB usable) Storage: ~465–466 GB Toshiba HDD, model MK5076GSX GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 710M, 2 GB Intel HD Graphics 4000, 32 MBWindows build: 19045 (Windows 10 22H2)
this is the model number
>>1578051and this is what my laptop looks like
>>1578050>also my laptop doesn’t have a screenOk, if you can't see shit, you can't fix shit. Bout your only option is installing another os that has better driver support straight out of the box>I hope I didn’t lost my files on my laptopThey're still sitting there on your hard drive, assuming your OS install didn't involve formatting C:I'd suggest removing your hard drive to be safe (frankly I don't trust you not to overwrite it with a new OS), and attempt to run some operating systems from a thumb drive. You can see the bios screen/settings to do something like that, right?
>>1578050Download the drivers for your graphics card and put them on a usb stick. Go on your laptop and press Windows Key + Ctrl + ENter to turn on narrator, it's something to help the blind navigate windows, it narrates what's on screen. Look up how to navigate windows without a mouse, it's not hard. Narrator will tell you what's selected. Put oin your usb stick, Windows Key + E to open file explorer, TAB will cycle through the menus, for me it's five presses before I'm on the menu the USB will appear. Just follow along with what the narratos is saying until you can run the driver installer.
>>1578059Oh wait I guess this wouldn't work if you're still on the windows account creation screen. If you have access to another computer, put you HDD in it and finish setting up, install the driver (not sure if you can install you graphics card driver on a computer without the same graphics card, but it's worth trying) then put it back on your laptop.DId you already trying disconnecting and reconnecting the monitor with the computer still on?
>>1578050>>1578052If you look at your F4 key you'll see it's an icon of 2 monitors next to each other. Hold down Fn (bottom left next to ctrl) and press F4, this would normally force an external monitor on.If that fails your best bet is opening the laptop of physically removes the internal connection for the built in monitor, which should definitely force it to default to the external one. You can easily find videos showing this on Youtube.
>>1578064My mom removed the cable flat from my laptop which she thought it was for connecting the screen, then I plugged my laptop to the hdmi to the external monitor, and still doesn’t appear anything as it still says no sinal.
>>1578068Do I need to take it for repair?
I having this issue since like weeks ago, I had the same problem when I installed windows longhorn theme for windows 10, which my mom resolved by a key I don’t really remember.
>>1578079Are you over 18?
>>1578084Yes, I’m 19 years old.
1 - Turn the laptop on2 - wait 2 minutes3 - do exactly as indicated in the pictureIf that doesn't work it's either broken or you misunderstood what I meant by the internal monitor ribbon needs to be removed. If that had already been done the monitor should simply come on.
>>1578093thanks, I think I will try this tomorrow.
>>1578159If it works, I will post the result.
>>1578165maybe I will try today
>>1578210I think I will try later
>>1578225It didn’t work, I waited 2 minutes for it.
>>1578228For those who didn’t understand where I started getting this issue.https://desuarchive.org/g/thread/109999733/#109999927
I will give my laptop to my dad for repair then
>>1578245Too bad you didn't clear your internet history first...
use the vga connector instead
>>1578256I think I should connect to a vga then
>>1578291nvm it didn’t work
>>1578292and I did connect to vga
did this thread die? I still need help, just connected back to hdmi.
>>1578302OK. Forget everything. From square one: it sounds like the original monitor lead is still plugged into the laptops motherboard, this is making the laptop think the default monitor is still working and it's still trying to talk to it.Unscrew the laptop and take the back off so you can see the motherboard.Follow the cable coming from the lead that used to be connected to the original monitor to find where it attaches to the motherboard. It will be a flat plastic connector about 3cm wide.Carefully unplug it from whatever it's connected to, then cover the end of the lead with insulating tape. You may have to lift up a guard bracket on the connector to allow it to unplug.Put the back of the laptop back on.Attach your external monitor. This will now be the only monitor the laptop knows exists. It should automatically default to it and the diplay come on as soon as you power it up.If that doesn't work then your laptop is basically dead.
>>1578304>If that doesn't work then your laptop is basically dead.my laptop audio works fine thought, I activated the narrator but when I press win + p, the narrator thought it was about opening a window.
>>1578315Didn't address a single instruction I just gave.I'm done! You're either:1 - some weird troll shitposter with ocd2 - mentally disabled3 - 10 years old4 - all the aboveGoodbye.
>>1578318my mom kinda did remove the flat cable days ago, but it didn’t work, but I still get sound.
>>1578328>my mom kinda did remove the flat cable>my mom >kindaSo you don't fucking know. You know how you know? Look, with your own eyesOr get your Mom to read this thread for help if you're mentally incompetent
>>1578331i don’t get why are you complaining, my mom found that part of the laptop harder to remove due to the screw being stuck preventing them from being removed, my mom brought another screwdriver and she tried to remove the screw, but the casing screw won't come out.
>>1578449plus I think this is the flat cable
>>1578450as you can see, it shows that the laptop was manufactured on February 19, 2014, so yes, it’s a bit old, but I got the laptop from someone back in January 2023.
>>1578315I press crtl + shirt + win + b, it does a beep, but the display still doesn’t appear on the external monitor.https://files.catbox.moe/jgvgx1.mp4
>>1578452currently using cmd with caps lock + space activated, so the narrator can read to me.
>>1578460Now I pressed win + p and I found out that it can’t double display due to the drivers not being installed, fucking bullshit, and chatgpt won’t help me either reinstalling video drives using cmd.
>>1578481And I tried using winget commands like "winget install Nvidia.GeForceExperience" but it didn’t work because I don’t have it installed.
I'll check with my mom about installing the video drivers.
>>1578493>my mom>my mom>my mom>my momyou are very clearly too young to post on this website, and if you're not then you're very clearly not mentally capable of even beginning to try and fix this.the fix is incredibly simple, communicating with you isn't. find somewhere that has people specially trained in talking to people with special needs, because 4chan isn't it.
>>1578050Turn off the laptop completely.Turn the laptop on. The instant the power light appears start tapping F2 for about 15 seconds.Press Fn and F4. That should turn on the external monitor. You will be in the laptop bios.If that fails.Turn the laptop on. The instant the power light appears press Fn and F4. That should turn on the external monitor. during windows load up.If that fails. Try it again and press Fn and F4 repeatedly. If that fails. You are shit out of luck.
