What happened to iceberg charts? I don't mean that they stopped being made, they're still a hot topic on YouTube and some forums, but their reception seems mostly negative nowadays compared to say about 5-10 years ago. Sure, the format might have gotten stale, but judging from images like this one, there's still a real and clear passion for the craft that go beyond just basic research and slapping on the same generic iceberg photo in the background, and yet people just... stopped caring? This iceberg in particular is one I actually wanted to do an explanation series on, but with how much AI content is on YouTube with a lot of them stepping their toes into iceberg creation and explanation videos, I get the feeling that any amount of time or effort spent into such an endeavor would be swiftly drowned out and dismissed entirely. I miss when these were interesting and talked about, but now it just feels like there's a certain level of animosity channeled towards them. Iceberg charts have become a lost art.

Anyway, if you have any cool or interesting iceberg charts, feel free to share them.

>What happened to iceberg charts?
You explain it yourself. There's a whole industry of explainers syphoning all the fun away.
A good iceberg has a dual audience: knowers and ignoramici. Knowers can chuckle at the characterization of certain knowledge as deep secrets.
Ignoramici experience a sense of amused bewilderment at the bizarre shit in the bottom tiers.
If you EXPLAIN the whole thing, the whole sense of exploration is killed. Experience is changed to ruminance.
I favor meme charts that require a sense of familiarity with the subject. They are much harder to commodify.
