Im a bit confused at Nvidia statement. They are dropping support for win10 next month, but will continue support with quarterly critical security updates up until 2029. I only have Nvidia Control Panel installed (+a driver that someone installed, its a new PC), do I need the App to get those security updates? The one game I want to play is Elden ring ( currently waiting for it to go on sale), but there might be more recent ones too. If it matters I have a Geforce RTX 5060 (1080p is fine by me) but not sure how supported it is without the app.So, the obvious question is: Should I download Nvidia App to get the last update and the security ones? and no, I dont intend to move on to win11, not until I hear K2 has fixed "everything".Sorry if stupid question, Im not very proficient at computers
>>1578591Never update drivers for ANYTHING unless you have a 100% need to do so. In other words if something simply won't work if you don't. The same rule applies to motherboard bios updates, if the one it came with has never had an issue then leave it alone."critical security updates" btw( especially from Nvidia) translates to spyware.Simple test - is everything you need to work right now working? if it is just stay on your current driver. People have done tests on drivers years after a card has come out and compared the latest driver to the day 1 driver, there's basically no performance difference fps wise.
>>1578592alright, thanks! I guess I wont download it. Everything's running well so far. Thank you!
