The story was more relatable when the original trilogy painted him as a great man who was corrupt by the dark side. Making him Jesus in space just took away the human side of him. Also, the depiction of Anakin as a train wreck waiting to happen made the story seem less tragic. Vader was smart, calculated, and strangely empathetic in his ability to instantly know a persons motivation for whatever they were doing, and we never got to see the benevolent version of that character with the prequels. There was no real fall depicted in those films. The original trilogy alludes to something so much greater than what we were given with the prequels. Gen Z's love of those films over the original trilogy makes you all just seem so weird. I liked them too and will defend them at times, as they came out when I was between the ages of five and eleven and they have some nostalgic value to me and are indeed entertaining, but by the time you're an adult - which I'm not sure you are - you should be able to see that the original trilogy is far better and that the prequels were a complete shitshow that failed to present a truly emotional and tragic story.

His fall to the dark side was a failure of the Jedi. He should have been able to draw power from love without letting it become an attachment or without letting it consume him. In the end he could only draw power from suffering, loss and hatred, and even with just that he was formidable. He never learned to wield the force in full (pro tip: no dark side but no suppression)
