The teachings of Jesus Christ are a course correction for the human. A way to reach homeostasis through the use of the paradox field upon which reality is created. A paradox necessarily has a minimum of two conflicting sides. Neither of the sides are good, simply because it is the inclination of the human towards error. Sin = Missing the mark. That means that God needed to create reality upon a field of paradoxes so it will always be self correcting, until the point is reached when the pendulum sits perfectly still. It does not swing towards either side of the paradox of all creation.
>And He sat down, and called the twelve and said unto them, “If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all and servant of all."
The two sides of this paradox are the First man (the great man, the king, the boss) and the Last man (the servant, the oppressed, the weak). To become the first, you have to be the last. But that also mean that the leaders are actually the oppressed and the weak, while the powerful are pathetic and slaves to many. Neither of the sides of this paradox are the desired state fit for a human.
The pendulum ought to swing farther and farther from the edges of paradox, until is stops completely in the middle. That's the state for for a human.
Neither the first nor the last. The balanced homeostasis in God.

And if you think on it, every single aspect of existence rests on such paradoxes. I think it's impossible for a human to tackle all of them and correct their courses, but Jesus Christ meant to show what the Way is.
