It often has little to do with any entities. When it does involve an entity, the entity is simply a carrier for the spiritual virus, an intermediary of sorts.

So something like alcoholism is a spirit, to get rid of it you need first to want to, then to force a change of habit. But alcoholism isn’t an entity, it won’t manifest in your bedroom or talk through an ouija board or flicker the lights.
