it was constant war and bloodshed, imagine a world where anyone could create an army of 10000 immortal men and do anything they wanted with it. that is what those who understand the deepest esoteric secrets can do. there were tons of these powerful wizards running around constructing great cities and sacking others, then the system collapsed at some point and we are living in a world where there are only a few all powerful reality wizards running around in places like Langley.
