Come discuss the worship and conjuration of Ishtar, Inanna, Aphrodite, other historically related deities/spirits, and their entourages.

"Appearing in more literary compositions than any other deity, Inanna embodied endless complexities and contradictions: an unbridled goddess at once upholding and destroying the status quo; a passionate goddess engaging in romantic and destructive erotic love; a heavenly goddess who trod the underworld; a feminine goddess who was sometimes portrayed as a bearded warrior; and a mercurial goddess bestowing tender mercies even as she moved freely from one conquest to another."
"[Astarte] is often paired with Baal and also — in a warlike form called Astoreth — with Set. The Mesopotamian goddesses Ishtar and Inanna are other forms of this goddess. The mysteries of Inanna and Dumuzi, Ishtar and Tammuz, and of Astarte and Adonis, were an influence upon the Egyptian mysteries of Isis and Osiris, in which a Queen Astarte appears. Given the combined influence of the cult of Isis, and the Syrian Goddess, on the later Christian cult of Mary, Astarte is among the most influential and important of all Classical deities."

If you're interested in working with the Queen of Heaven, the best things you can do are to start meditating, making offerings, and maybe banishing. Preferably do all three daily, or at least a few times a week. This will get her attention and improve your ability to communicate with her, as well as generally train your occult abilities.

Is this really the only anime about Ishtar? I am so fucking sick of her Fate design honestely. Like obviously that's my problem. But if you know any other anime or jrpg that has Ishtar in it, please post that instead so we have some variety.

They are separate entities.

It's weird that we have these /x/ waifu threads. Say what you will about the succubus and tulpa threads, at least they pretend to offer actual advice on something that might have value to some people. These threads and the fox thread are just vibe-based hangouts for people too lazy to click over to /a/ or /jp/, barely one step above the nobody threads.

Maybe you shouldn’t deliberately enter threads you don’t like.

Well, I suppose it’s time we do more than just posting pictures of our goddess. What sort of rituals and relationships do any of you have with the Queen of Heaven?

For me, personally, I recognize Friday as her hily day of the week. During this time, I like to offer her libations at the altar, usually in the form of alcohol (the finer, the better). I have a series of prayers I say to her on Fridays and also any time I am having a more formal religious observance as opposed to less formal prayer at any given time. After the formal prayers, I continue with giving thanks for her blessings and otherwise expressing my love and appreciation and telling her anything else that’s on my mind I’d like to share.

What do you anons like to do?

Also, I’d like to add that Easter is Ishtar’s holiday and always has been about her. I made sure to have a special religious observance on that day for her. On a personal level, I have made my observances of autumn holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving and winter holidays like Christmas about her too. That is just my personal thing and not about anything historical relating to Ishtar. I observe those holidays in memory of the change of seasons and Ishtar’s descent into the underworld. Easter, of course, celebrates her resurrection and return from the underworld which is symbolized through the transition from winter to spring. Summer holidays can also be viewed as symbolizing Ishtar at the peak of her vitality. I welcome others to share any prayers, rituals or other religious observances you may have in your relationship with Ishtar.

fate strange/fake has a different depiction of ishtar that i dig a lot (i think she is supposed to have a purer admixture of god here). there is also a new anime that is coming out soon featuring her apparently...
>Based on the Cult Shoujo by Shinohara Chie about a girl from modern Japan travelling back in time to the Hitite Empire, Anatolia in 1500 BC where she eventually becomes renowned as the goddess of war, Ishtar.
