since ive been eating miso soup and natto (both really high in probiotics, which are good for gut microbiome) daily with rice for a bit, I've noticed that my ocd and mental state is a million times more calm. i woke up feeling almost completely normal (i usually eat this at night before bed). i was already doing this a week ago or so but stopped eating both miso soup and natto for a few days and just rice and beans and immediately my ocd symptoms (frequency of intrusive thoughts, compulsions) and general anxiety and fear went up insanely high. just walking in the grocery store felt like someone gave me an adrenaline shot or something. i also have very severe (diagnosed) ptsd so maybe that also contributes to the anxiety factor. i also drink green tea every morning and try to do intermittent fasting (by not eating breakfast or anything until maybe i buy a snack in the afternoon or eat something in the afternoon, before my dinner) and i was still kind of doing those things when i wasnt eating the miso soup and natto, but my symptoms were still bad without the miso soup and natto. the type of tea is this ito en tea (the one in teabags, not the bottled one) that seems very low-quality and seems to be mostly made from stems of the tea plant and only some leaves and matcha powder but kukicha (stem tea) actually is high in L-theanine which i think i read helps ocd and mental health, and the ito en tea tastes almost exactly how kukicha tasted when i had it. i know that knowingly drinking low quality tea because its from the japanese brand and the packaging has the modern Japanese "visual aesthetics" is weeb-y (i knew about macrobiotics and Asian health stuff since i was a kid though, i am not just a weeb) but it seems to be the only tea that doesnt cause me bad luck. i wonder if this is because its probably lower in caffeine than the other (high-quality, organic, loose-leaf form) teas that i have. >>42463636(cont.) >but it seems to be the only tea that doesnt cause me bad luck. i wonder if this is because its probably lower in caffeine than the other (high-quality, organic, loose-leaf form) teas that i have. i have severe ocd and i have posted before about how it seems that certain random things cause me bad luck when i do them, even when i try to do them without caring, that still happens. i have posted about it before. the main examples are types of tea that cause certain things (events) to happen to me that day, and the process appears to also extend to nighttime as well. examples include: >using bamboo as my phone wallpaper, causes something particularly bad to happen >drinking black tea, causes something bad to happen >drinking 1tbsp of sencha green tea, appears to cause something particularly bad to happen related to my boss at work, when i brew the tea for too long (which releases more caffeine, i only did this once and on accident and some particularly bad things happened at work that day, including technology at work malfunctioning which hadn't happened in a while and happened at a bad moment), and the same thing happened to me when i cold-brewed the tea, the timing of the event was just inverted to where something bad with my boss happened in the morning before i was supposed to work, after i had made the tea at NIGHT (cold-brewing by leaving the tea leaves in a strainer in a bottle in the fridge overnight), while the previous incident happened during the DAY at work after i made the tea (and brewed it for too long) in the morning before work. >drinking jasmine tea causes some kind of conflict to happen between me and my mother that day, and whatever incident occurs is worse when the amount of tea i used is higher. >>42463673(cont.) i think this is related to geomancy somehow. like Feng Shui. in Feng Shui they believe that the way objects are placed, doing things like getting rid of unnecessary things, can alter circumstances in ones life such as romance and financial circumstances. i think it's believed that these things affect those circumstances in a direct, metaphysical way, not just like an "analogy" like "you cleaned your living room entrance so now you're feeling more psychologically relaxed and comfortable with having guests over", it's more like they literally believe that cleaning your living room entrance will literally cause random new opportunities to appear in your life that you didn't know about or predict. i think what I've been noticing with what happens to me when i drink certain teas is similar to that. what i mentioned in my original post was about how my diet seems to be improving my mental health because I'm eating things that are good for my gut microbiome (miso soup and natto). I've read people on here talk about how we have parasites in our body (or stomach?) that we don't know about and they can cause or affect mental illness. I've also heard people on here say they're connected to spiritual phenomena and even spread via sexual activity (even not involving another person i think?). the part about parasites being connected to spiritual phenomena makes me think of the theory i read that apparently a Russian scientist claimed that OCD is an "energy parasite". others have said it's basically a demon causing the process of feeding off of you when you perform compulsions and providing you the feeling of relief from doing them, and giving you the urge to perform the compulsions in the first place by enticing you by making you think that the feeling of anxiety will go away if you do the compulsion.so i wonder if the ocd, whether spiritual or physical, is connected to my stomach somehow? Japanese people believed that the life force resides in the stomach
heard good things about probiotic L. reuteri specifically that it changes other's perception towards you. you become more imposing and respected. i have yet to try. it is sold as osteoporosis aid probiotic. biogaia osfrotis.on a more direct note, ive been curious to try natto. is it as gross as it looks? if you want the full jap pill for mental wellbeing, eat GABA rice
>>42464248L reuteri legit makes your nuts big but only for as long as you'll take em and your body will get used to it so after like a couple weeks the effect will go away. I know you're asking about natto and shit but I've been taking the capsules on and off for almost 10 years now and this along with cistanche powder are like the only things that will actually make your balls larger. Not crazy large, maybe about 1.25-1.5x larger and they need to be cycled on and off to keep getting the effect back. What it does to the body that's useful and healthy? Dunno bud, sorryBut kombucha and greek yogurt will set ur shit straight, vitamin d +k2 and b12 will also get you perfect
>>42463636>>42463673>>42463787i believe your ocd is making you catastrophize minor issues and ascribing their cause to random acts. the probiotics and especially l-theanine calmed your neurosis somewhat, taking your edge off so to say.
>>42464248>on a more direct note, ive been curious to try natto. is it as gross as it looks? not if you make sure to transport it properly (dont let it get heated up in the car if you live somewhere hot, bring ice and if possible a cooler to keep it cold when you take it home from the grocery store). i get it from the Asian grocery store.also, when you eat it DO NOT MIX IT INTO RICE. i made that mistake when i ate it for the first time cause i read someone say they did that and it was so awful it made the entire bowl of rice taste like bitter possibly spoiled natto that got hot in the car.i just empty the natto packet on TOP of a bowl of rice, and i pour onions sauce over it. its completely fine and normal that way. ive tried 3 different brands so far and theyre mostly similar, the hardest part is just getting used to the texture of the slimy strings touching your lips over and over every time you take a bite, but the last time i ate natto i transported it properly on the way home (in a cooler with ice) and it tasted super fresh and wasnt as slimy. i let one of the packets defrost in the fridge for a few hours before eating and put it on top of a bowl of freshly fried rice to let the heat defrost it more and it was fine. this one i most recently bought and transported properly actually smelled and tasted GOOD to me this time, like unsalted roasted peanuts, and it felt super fresh since it didnt get heated up in the car. I'll try to find the brand name and add a pic, the packaging is all in Japanese >eat GABA ricei looked it up and that sounds amazing, thank you for telling me about this. i might have even heard about this from macrobiotics (traditional Japanese diet & East Asian medicine). my Mom taught me about it since i was a little kid, sometimes when my stomach was messed up i think she would give me umeboshi paste and it was super tough to swallow but it actually worked. it was really salty too hahaha.Taihei natto (picrel) is the best one ive tried so far.
>>42464248>>42465211>i just empty the natto packet on TOP of a bowl of rice, and i pour onions sauce *s 0 y sauce. it did the thing where the site changes s 0 y to onions. also i eat it with rice like picrel, just on top of the rice, not mixed INTO the rice
>>42464474honestly i think you might be right. i think that might even be why this low quality tea that's sold as matcha green tea but tastes and LOOKS like tea made from just mostly stems and not actually tea LEAVES, is the only tea that doesn't seem to cause something particularly bad to happen to me after i drink it, because there's almost no caffeine in stem tea (also called "kukicha"). it also tastes exactly the same as how kukicha tastes when i tried actual kukicha, and i also notice that this tea doesn't seem to have as much if even any caffeine as normal other teas i've drank. though at least once it made me unable to sleep when i drank it at night, so i think it may have just SOME caffeine enough to cause that effect but not as much as actually high quality tea. on a slightly unrelated note i also have noticed that it seems like Asians might be more tolerant to caffeine or something, like it seems like they can drink tea at night like it's normal. I've seen in multiple manga (bouncer, death note, Gigant) scenes where a character is drinking bottled tea (which i assume was caffeinated) at nighttime like it's normal, and in death note in the scene where Misa goes to Light's house for the first time it seems to happen at night and Light asks his mom to make tea for them. also i saw a pic on pinterest of what looked like a girl holding 2 cans of some Lotte (Korean brand) coffee and it seemed to be night in the pic, like she was about to drink it at night. I've heard that people with adhd also actually get tired from caffeine. i still think that there might be some strange metaphysical/luck/manifestation(?) related cause for the examples i listed because it seemed like bad stuff really did happen every time i drank those other teas even when i tried to do it without caring / as an "exposure" for ERP (exposure response prevention) therapy for ocd.
>>42464474>>42465292also i had a really bad trip from taking lsd once as a teenager and being stupid enough to smoke (possibly laced) weed while on it, and it gave me severe anxiety and especially sleep issues for the next few months. it got so bad i legit was scheduled to see a neurologist but i never ended up getting scheduled. also, i think that might have given me an extremely subtle form of HPPD, which i only found out RECENTLY, because while i was actually having the trip i didnt really have any psychedelic visuals at all except maybe what seemed like my bathroom light alternating between dimming and brightening, but fast forward many years and recently i was on estrogen / HRT for a few weeks (yes i am/was a tranny) and i woke up having actual psychedelic visuals one time while on it, it was terrifying. i woke up in the dark but noticed it when i turned on my phone to check the time, it looked like there were small bubbles over everything, like the "Starry Night" Van Gogh painting. that happened a few months ago, i stopped taking estrogen soon after that.
>>42464474also >and especially l-theanine i noticed that the most relief i had from my symptoms so far was when i was eating miso soup and natto daily. I'm not sure if i was drinking this specific tea during those times, only recently i started drinking it daily and i think i was still drinking it when i was NOT eating miso soup or natto for a few days and my symptoms were really bad again despite having drank that tea, so i think it was the miso soup and natto improving my symptoms and not the tea. also, i have a language learning video playing on tv, and EXACTLY when i typed "also" in the beginning of my post the teacher said the word "also". ??????????????????

>>42463636Is the natto making you poop more?It has an enzyme called Nattokinase which is a protein-busting enzyme. If you have parasites, this can often help get rid of them. Because the parasites in the gut are naturally resistant to our mammalian digestive enzymes, but they are not resistant to the enzymes from plant sources such as natto. If you're pooping a lot more than normal that's a good thing! Keep eating natto. Maybe add some wasabi and ginger. Both of these kill parasites too
>>42465458hahahahaha. Im more like jealous that i cant be a naturally feminine looking femboy now actually. i think i was already like that anyway rather than fully wanting to be female. at this point i don't care about gender identity stuff and looks, ive accepted there isnt much i can do. without an external source of estrogen, and also having my body still produce testosterone (since i didnt get any kind of sex-change surgeries), i just look like a man, there's simply no changing that. i had to cut my hair recently too and that was basically the killing blow. i am mostly at peace with it. if i could have it exactly the way i want it, I'd be a male who looks naturally feminine to the point of really looking indistinguishable as male or female, like Mello from death note, or like the character Tanzawa Atsushi from the delinquent manga "Out" (picrel). /lgbt/ is also one of the most toxic boards on this website. people there are constantly either flaunting things they enjoy that others can't have and purposefully making others jealous, or insulting others and trying to hurt them psychologically. >>42465867>It has an enzyme called Nattokinase which is a protein-busting enzyme. If you have parasites, this can often help get rid of them. Because the parasites in the gut are naturally resistant to our mammalian digestive enzymes, but they are not resistant to the enzymes from plant sources such as natto. That's so cool, I had no idea about that. Thanks for telling me. Also I'm not passing stool any differently than usual that I notice, but my OCD symptoms are noticeably far less severe, I straight up feel almost completely normal. I was thinking earlier it feels like in a zombie video game when the zombies are trying to break through barriers or break into a saferoom but can't, lol. Like in call of duty zombies how they start breaking down the boards over the windows, but in this case like they can't break the boards as long as I'm eating the natto and miso soup. lol.
>>42465867>>42466080also,>Keep eating natto. i plan to keep eating miso soup and natto daily. i also drink tea daily, preferably green tea or jasmine green tea. picrel is the one i currently drink daily. it's expensive ($8 for one box at the Asian grocery store) but it seems low quality to me. it seems like they use mostly the stems of the tea plant rather than actual tea leaves, and a bit of matcha powder. there actually is a form of tea intentionally made from only stems of the tea plant, called "kukicha". apparently kukicha is really high in L-theanine, which i read helps manage OCD symptoms and anxiety. I've tried kukicha before and it tasted exactly like this ito en tea. i also don't feel as much of a stimulation effect from this tea, so i don't think it's high in caffeine, but like i mentioned in another post, it seems to still have some amount of caffeine because when i drank a different version of this tea (different packaging design and i think 30g weight rather than 32g weight of picrel, and picrel is sold for $7.99 but the other version was $7.69, but both were sold as "matcha green tea") by this brand at nighttime, i don't think i was able to fall asleep.>Maybe add some wasabi and ginger. I think the anti-bacterial properties of both of these would kill the positive gut bacteria in the miso and natto, so if I do, I'll avoid eating them at the same time I eat the miso soup and natto (with rice), which I usually do at night. Also, you can make ginger tea. My Mom taught me that she learned from a German doctor who decided to personally study natural/homeopathic remedies and document them extensively, that you let the ginger (prefarably freshly grated ginger) boil in water for 3 minutes and no longer than that, and it will have the best effect. It's also important that you don't let it boil any longer than that, because apparently it becomes useless. She pronounces his name as "Broyce", he was famous and wrote a book, but I can't find him or the book.
>>42466145>I think the anti-bacterial properties of both of these would kill the positive gut bacteria in the miso and natto I meant to say positive/good bacteria, probiotics. There are good and bad kinds of bacteria. Probiotics are the good kindAlso >>42465867>Parasites hijack behavior and personality This theory is actually even discussed in "Higurashi no naku koro ni". Apparently in one of the anime adaptations of the series (it's originally a visual novel for PC, not an anime), there is a scene where they discuss a theory that different kinds of parasites are actually responsible for conflict between different religious groups in different regions globally. The author seems to know a LOT of interesting things, he has also mentioned other interesting stuff in his works, like that gods are "beings who sacrificed all limitations". There was even a post where someone added a webm or video of that exact scene on this board somewhere, but I would have to check the archive for it, I can't remember what exactly the poster wrote but he may have said something like "parasitepilled" and mentioned the author's name, Ryukishi07 or Ryukishi. Picrel is from one of the visual novels written by the author, titled "Umineko no naku koro ni".
>>42466178This is also from the same visual novel, Umineko.

>>42466202So what? Japanese people are obsessed with Germans and Westerners and "traditional" Western stuff like their architecture, Western sweets, Western mythology. Even Western occult stuff, for example the visual novel "Corpse party". There is tons of Japanese media that was inspired by fascination with Western things. So why's it only wrong when it's inverted? Because you're a loser who let other losers bully you out of liking things you actually enjoyed. At least what I'm doing is actually giving me physical health benefits, which is kind of why it got popular OUTSIDE of Japan, you fucking idiot.
