Who is actually paying for people to study biology at extreme microscopic levels?
I understand humans having a natural interest in learning about the world and in curing diseases, but where are the funds coming from on so much of this stuff?
From a basic human capitalism perspective it seems like too much of a 'luxury' thing than a 'need' thing.
Joe needs his lawn mowed, so a bunch of lawnmower careers are naturally created. People pay for makeup and food and movie tickets etc. There's a direct line to follow here for big enough desire/need --> willingness to pay.
But take something like the people who are paid to fuck with mice's speech genes all day and see how inserting human speech gene into mice changes their behavior.
It's obv interesting (and evil imo) but what I don't understand is how this is at all became a legitimate job. How is the 'need' strong enough to create labs of sixfigure careers fucking with mice speech genes?

Scientists also work on harassing human cells and making them drop their biological instructions until the mechanism is tricked enough such that gays can 'reproduce' via replacing a woman's DNA with a man's hair DNA and then making that DNA combine with another man's sperm.
i'm sure some gays want this but the demand can't be that high that the amount of $$$$ this research must take makes sense to naturally procure
Is any of this resonating with anyone else? and also it feels like we should be having these people solve cancer BEFORE we for example make neurons play Doom

or reanimate spider corpses
https://www.reddit.com/r/science/comments/wgxc06/scientists_turned_dead_spiders_into_robots_in_a/

why and HOW are we funneling billions of dollars towards things the average consumer doesn't even think about?

how do people have careers reanimating spider corpses, making neurons play Doom, and tricking cells into hosting gay babies all day?

You might have a point here. Those making investment decisions might suffer from some Form of impaired survival function then, hm? Probably some dangerous mutation but would that be worth investigating...

Dem braincells are literally become the Doomguy. Cursed to forever fight thousands of demonz on The Moon. Without any rest. RIP AND TEAR FOR INFINITY!

The reason they are making those shovel papers is to get a chance for recognition - doesn't matter if it's scientific field, if they notice their "theories" being parroted as Gospel by retards on REBBIT or /x/, then they know they have a Golden Goose and there are two ways to go about it - keep pretending you're working in super deep medical projects and how they insert nanochips into everything injectable, write a book about every of your "experiences" and sell it to self-proclaimed "truth seekers" or become more modernized and create a stream where you "fake it as you make it", don't forget to say glowies are on you and delete any kind of historical proof about what you're saying and/or use Mandela Effect to switch timelines. Voila! You're now a Schizo GOD worshipped by masses of fat, lazy, hopeless retards who are too lazy to kill themselves so they hope for a global catastrophe.

>Who funds
Governments and non-profits give grants for basic research in hopes that we can better understand a particular disease. For example some cancer grants study cell division

Even if you "solved" cancer, the aging of the human body would lead to muscle dystrophy, cognitive abilities degenerating, body repair ability getting worse and worse at the job, not to mention problems with all organs and extremities. Regardless of cancer, aging is a set timer or life with which we are born. It cannot be changed, perhaps only delayed, yet as mortal beings made of matter, which itself will decay one day - it's foolish to assume Immortality will be available to anyone except the few who want to usher in a true Kingdom of Gods whose rule will last a 1000 years, at the very least.

you never hear about the really useful careers cuz theyre top secret I imagine

you might be surprised how often big players in the food industry, like nabisco for instance, fund deep studies into biology.
