It's 2006, but 2026
Do you know what I mean by that? In 1926 is this how I would have once felt about 1906 had I been born on the turn of the century and grown up?

In 1906 You may have not ever seen an automobile in your life unless it had been at some sort of exhibition. By 1926 automobiles would have become somewhat common.

In 1906 horses would me the most common means of transportation railcar would not be unusual. By 1926 horses used as everyday conveyance would not be an uncommon sight, but automobiles would become more common. Travel via steam locomotive would be everywhere in 1926.

1906 telephones exist. 2026 you may have actually used one. 2006 you would carry one in your pocket, and it would have a video camera and be capable of connecting to the internet. By 2026 it would be seen as unusual to not have a telephone connected to the panopticon.

1906 radio communication exists. By 2026 you may have heard a public radio broadcast. Public radio still exists in 2026, as do horses.

In 1906 you may not have electricity in your home, by 1926 it would have become much more attainable to have electricity. You would be more likely to have electricity situated in or near cities. By 2006 it would be unusual to not be hooked up to the power grid. 2026 you are still hooked up to the power grid with no end in sight.

1926 was the middle of the "Roaring 20's". The overall culture would not have changed much since 1906. There may be some new European immigrants into your home town. They somewhat clash with their strange accents, but they become familiar with the new ways and adapt them quickly.

>2006-2026

Cultural degradation. Advances are being made, but more slowly. Maybe aliens are real. AI is now intruding on your life.

Take me to 1906, please.

yeah. its weird having lived in two distinctly different centuries and yet somehow even though we are only just over a quarter of a century into the new millennium it feels ancient & dated.

Our generation(s) have gone through more paradigm shifting change than all previous generations combined, in my opinion. It's impossible to settle. There is no foundation to society. Everything is constantly shifting. Institutions changing. Technology advancing exponentially (and the tech we grew up with now completely absent or obsolete). How do you plan for a future you can't even fathom?

My dad's mother was born in early 1905 and she lived until late 2007. My dad was born in early 1931.
I arrived in the middle of 1968.
I got to meet my dad's grandmother once in 1975 when she was 95.
I grew up around the stuff that they had considered normal.. technology from across the decades.
Because my dad was in the military I had lived in Europe throughout most of my childhood.. so I was exposed to culture and history going back much further. Because he had learned the Vietnamese language and spent two years in Vietnam I also had Asian cultural influence in my early life.
I got an unusual amount of information from unusual sources along the way.

More history has been removed from your view than has been advertised to you in your educational doctrine. Even if you had access and were told the entire available information the changing times would still be a factor but you have been left with far less than you realize of the available data. Far less than enough to formulate a meaningful understanding of situational awareness. Far less than what is needed to form a response.

A symbol was added to the reverse of the American one dollar bill 90 years ago. Watch what happens when it is removed and then appears on the currency of another nation.

Those who have been removing the actual history on an industrial scale for centuries are not concerned with the same concepts they have led the public sector to be concerned about.

I often feel this way. There's a few things that partially fill the gap, but not 20 years worth. Some things feel like barely any time has passed at all.

I got merged with a 2032 version of myself and I can’t shake the feeling that it’s really 2032.

Also the whole ass past is way fucking off, events are years before or behind where they actually took place, 2015-2019 is 5 years but has like 13 years compressed into it.

It was all just a joke
>>42470338
I would rather experience 1926 because it's sort of the dawn of modern civilization, whereas 1906 is pre-modern, But the downside is it would also be great depression era.
