His name is actually Kekui and he's apart of the Ogdoad. There's more than one Ogdoad.Frogs were Fertility deities. He wasn't really a "chaos deity". Kek(ui) is actually a "Light-Bringer" (or a Lucifer if you're not a normalfag that spergs if someone says a word you're not supposed to enjoy) and he and his consort Kauket work in consort to raise and lower the light, sort of like the Morning Star and Evening Star.

He was not mentioned first on /x/ as Kekui. The OP explaining it called him KEK at the time ) and then the Name stuck as he was embraced as a Meme Mascot for the /x/ board. Sorry if I'm just rehashing stuff you already know but I'm just explaining how it happened organically for why they shorten his name to that here
