example: it's 7am and my alarm clock goes off. i have one voice in my head saying, "oh just another 5 minutes it's fiiiiine", and another voice screaming, "GET UP YOU FUCKING IDIOT YOU'RE GONNA BE LATE!".it feels like 2 distinct personalities vying for control of the body. somewhere in the middle is a 3rd voice that chooses which one to listen to.also, when i'm walking around the house talking to myself, who am i talking to? who is my inner head voice talking to?
>>42477410Personality ≠ your inner monologuing. Believing that brain chatter or thoughts = personality is something that autists believe since their own thoughts are all they have for company.Personality is a nebulous and debated topic, you'll always hear different definitions of personality, people will tell you it's about what you think about (idiots) others will tell you this about how you feel (morons). What personality is about is your actions, and that's all. Because personality is dependent on mutuality. We can only say person #1 has "X" personality because either we have "Z" personality that contrasts them, or we see "Y" personalities that contrast them. And the only way we can observe personality is from actual behaviours, actions and reactions. Thoughts are not personalities and never will be.
>>42477440seething aphantasic
>>42477478I don't have aphantasia I just don't have autism and can separate my identity from my thoughts. Only neurotic special "neurodivergent" retards struggle to separate their self identity with their own ruminations.
>>42477410You are anthropomorphizing your desires and giving them voices. Both are you interpreting your desires through thoughtform vocalizations. You are normal in that regard, Anon. A bit odd you can't seem to realize the difference, though.
>>42477410Unrelated but if you split your brain in half you won't be the same person since each hemisphere of the brain works independently and can't communicate with each other>tfw no free will
Internal Family Systems has a model kind of like this. I don't know much about it, but it seems like /x/ should talk about it more, with how people who practice it "dialogue" with their internal personalities.
>>42478014that's all i was trying to start. a discussion. then you have these know-it-all (know nothing) faggots shitting up the thread with their narcissism.the board has always been infested with morons, but it feels like it's 99% morons now just trying to shut every thread down that isn't a tranny or god thread
>>42477410>it feels like 2 distinct personalitiesIt could be spirits trying to get you to do things. Everybody has the capacity to hear spirits and many people find they can hear it more easily in the morning. You could have 2 spirits trying to get you to do two different things
>>42478103>shitting up the thread with their narcissism.>>42478168
>>42477410Yes. I don't trust people who can't comprehend this. Means they're msotly unconscious.

I ask myself the same questions brother and just like this anon >>42478222I'm wary of people who don't get it or act all mighty about itSorry I don't have an answer for you, I struggle with that every day and even though this board helped me find a lot of answers, I'm still stuck on that.I have another question though. You ask who are you speaking to? But I got to ask myself also... who actually is speaking? Where does the "I" begins and stops? Are you just an observer observing Anon speak? Who is Anon then if you are you and "living through" him? The closest I got to an answer is when I understood the difference between mind/body/soul. So far I think I am the observer (soul), and I'm seeing the mind (which I think is me) talk to...... what? My body? You see what I mean, this is where I'm stuck at for now.
>>42478290he is correct

>>42477410>are we all multiple personalities? No. You are the space upon which these multiple personalities play out.>Who am I talking to? Who is my inner head voice talking to?Who else?Yourself, dumbass.
>>42477440you're fucking retarded and your opinion completely contradicts what established science has to say on the subject of personality. You are deliberately misleading people because you are autistic and delusional
>>42477410>i have one voice in my head saying, "oh just another 5 minutes it's fiiiiine", and another voice screaming, "GET UP YOU FUCKING IDIOT YOU'RE GONNA BE LATE!".That is manas. the mind element. The center of sensory input. The mind takes in the input, and creates simultaneous, contradicting desires. The intelligence, the discriminatory factor, is the element that chooses the options the mind is presenting.
you wake up tired then your brain just rapes you because it thinks you deserve it or whatever. It’s something entirely discernible from personality though isnt it, it’s almost like you can veer yourself into being uncomfortable, which isn’t a personality trait
>>42480092That's definitely mfw. You look at the feats possible under deep hypnosis, then you look at your own daily life. It is tiresome.
>>42480111Well given these feats are just wires you can’t cross on your own I think we have to start being ourselves and warp around this jagged scuffed shitty planet

But I was gonna do my step bro like that.Imagine. Banging my step bro's gfabd banging my step-sisterAll in the same house.Oh to have some memories like that.I'd have to be a real asshole. But the thing is, none of those people matter to me anymore. That was all 20+ years ago....Should I have done it?

anyoneevery find yourself in an "emergency" situationfind yourself in a "fight, flight or focus" kind of situation (for those who didn't catch that I added the "focus" bit myself and the powers that be approved version is just fight or flight no focus response included in the official "narrative")and have to deal with someoneexpereinceing what's commonly labeled"shock"as their personallyis still themonly a different side of themas if "roles" switchin one's brainin ways today's experts are not aware of yetflawed mortal mundane idiot's they areno matterhow much data they collect using their own mind
The amount of people mistaking their feelings for their identity, and separate identities is outstanding to say the least. It explains a lot.
Not multiple personalities but we wear different masks. You act different in different situations. Like when you are with your parents you'll usually be different to when you are at work. It's not a personality disorder per se. I have had the same thing with alarms. With the alarm clock thing lots of people do the 5 more minutes thing and then switch when it's almost too late. It you want to stop those voices, set your alarm 10-20 minutes later and just jump up as soon as you hear it.
>>42480962if you can haveconversationswith your own feelingsin such a wayyour own feelignsspeak to you with words in your own mindin waysrumoredto only happen in crazy folksas sane folksdo not talk to themselvesmuch less have themselves ARUGE backaccordingto the those born before I wasback in my daywhen I was young enoughto just assume if every one born before meagree'd on somethingthen I had to be the "stupid" oneinstead of themcasue that's what made sense to little kid meusingthe experience I had madeup to that pointcontext being whatever it is
>>42480983Those are only your senses communicating with you as you interpret them and your surroundings. They are not you, and you are not them. So never mistake the two for oneanother. You may "communicate" with anything, in any way, but, that does not mean the thing thought or feeling is you. There's no signal in the radio, in other words. You are interpreting your reality and ideas through your senses, and in interpreting them, you are giving them a unique 'voice' of their own, much like so many do.

>>42481066No assumptions from me. Only using logic, and well defined principles. The fact you don't continue your argument and instead resort to patronizing insults tells me you have nothing of substance to argue. If you want to see the world for what it is, first you must separate yourself from what you are not. You are not your emotions, your thoughts or your perceptions. So don't mistake one for the other, would be my advice. It's your life, though.Live it as you wish.

>>42477440>Personality ≠ your inner monologuing. Believing that brain chatter or thoughts = personalityWhy do policeman all talk the same and act the same? Because they're trained to think the same
>>42477410>multiple personalitiesDoesn't exist. You are your brain, all these thoughts you incorrectly interpret as personalities are you. It's called an internal monologue, you're simply debating yourself about what you're going to do.You can choose to change your personality by just having different thoughts but multiple distinct personalities at the same time simply doesn't exist. This is why all forms of brain damage and medication can change your personality. It's why brain tumours can be detected through a change personality.
