Just seeing aliens will cause you to not be able to stop thinking about them. Just seeing them will cause you to scream out loud with a blood curdling scream that you barely recognize as your own. This is because they are not carbon-based lifeforms like our minds are used to seeing, but are something far, far more exotic (in a bad way) that raise our fear response over its limit, causing sever PTSD and flashbacks. Some may commit suicide because they cannot stop thinking about the horrible form of the aliens.Every alien and monster concept art ever made by humans for tv/film is influenced by carbon-based lifeforms. These beings look like nothing the human mind can prepare itself for.This is why many in the military believe they are actually demons.
