The house was built in 2006, so not entirely new construction. The changes I’ve mad have been painting and correcting some sloppy changes made by the previous owner. She was kind of weird, but seemingly not insane or whatnot.

It was dry when we packed it, and there was not a single drop of water in the box in which it was packed. But this one glass had water in it. My wife and I are experienced occultists, so we joked about being haunted and just laughed it off. We just left the glass with water on the counter and moved on. A few days later, my wife found a snake in the bathroom when she was using it. I got rid of it surprisingly easily and wanted to let it out in a nearby field, but one of the neighbors killed it. Recently, my wife noticed that the water in the glass has been going down, despite us leaving it alone and it not being hot enough here for evaporation. I really need help, if someone cares to take the time. I am stuck between two different ways of being. I can't seem to make up my mind. It's been this way for years now and every day is hell. When you wake up and are not sure who you are or what you're about, it makes it impossible to enjoy even simple things. It's tortuous in a way and i'm very tired of this. I really need some advice.

I'm not sure how vague I should be as it's really an embarrassing problem. It basically comes down to identity and who i see myself as. I've been told I should not be so black and white, and try to combine these two identities, but in my mind, they are irreconcilable.

One outlook/identity is as an artist and wanting to only be about that work. Everything else takes a back seat. This aligns to something that feels very close to my soul. An innocent almost child like urge.

The other is more practical. Working out, money, women, etc. Abandoning the artist outlook so as to be able to enjoy life and not be so serious. It feels "lighter" and more positive for some reason.

I feel like maybe existentially or spiritually, i have two feet in different paths. One is more masculine and sunny and one is more feminine and dark. This may have been due to some of my own occult work (when i was active).

this is very apt! i was just talking about this with someone (my feeling disconnected to others). i even use the word "compartmentalize" a lot, mostly with work. I work for a friend, yet things at work piss me off quite a bit so i tell myself to compartmentalize so as not to jeopardize my job. but i also do this with friends and family as well. i'm very abrasive and inconsistent in my personality, and i don't like saying things that cause issues with these people. i'm honestly not sure how to not be this way. part of being an artist as i see it involves being yourself as un-apologetically as much as you can. it just seems to get me into trouble as my natural reactions can be antagonistic.
