I've been working a janitorial job at a popular theme park in Florida and it has been nothing but a surreal paranormal experience day in and day out for 2 years now. Theme Parks seem to be a hot spot for spiritual energy, shit gets trapped here and stays here, it's like a treasure trove of memory ingrams that have left impressions everywhere. Constant fluctuations in intense energy. Not to mention all the kinds of people here, the spending, the eating, the fucking Idiocracy of your average themepark going tourist, it all sets a certain vibe and when you're here EVERY WAKING HOUR, it begins to eat at you. Most importantly though, are the underground tunnels, the endless dirty bathrooms and confusing tunnel ways that are always empty, depressing and filthy. There's like a whole underground catacomb that looks very, very similar to what you imagine the backrooms to be like, underneath most major themeparks, at least the big ones in Florida, and traversing these environments every day is unbelievably crushing to the soul. I just sweep shit and take out the trash, day in, day out, traversing these underground shitholes and occasionally reaching the above ground to chance a heat stroke to clean up some fat kids vomit, all the while I'm taunted by the haunted memories of yesteryear.
Pic related is sincerely one of the most haunted locations I've ever been in, the upstairs bathroom is on their tier of something like The Shining.

Working any theme park, let alone an American theme park sounds like absolute hell tier work. Any work where you have huge crowds of people is bad enough (used to work something like flea markets professionally for some years, the constant din and noise for a whole day gets to be nerve wracking) but somewhere where you get as you say the most unhinged mix of consumers, idiot loudmouths, and then on top of that children just being children and being in a place that as a kid is supposed to be kind of magical so that's the energy they're constantly putting out.
You couldn't pay me enough to do this shit.

What's liminal about this?
>>

You need to be over 18 to post here, but I'll blow your broccoli-shaped mind. Liminal does not mean "the backrooms".

Tell us a story

There is a single stall and a urinal, and two big mirrors that make up the top floors bathroom
One time I walked in for cleaning and saw a guy crying and slitting his wrists on the toilet, scared the shit out of me since I did not hear any sounds of crying until I was visibly in the room with the guy, he left the stall door open as if he wanted someone to see him but the moment I walked in he slammed it shut, I immediately went downstairs to call security and when I went back up there all the blood had been cleaned up entirely and the guy was just gone.

Another time in the middle of August, for whatever reason, Christmas music started to play in the upstairs bathroom which I thought was really surreal, I even recorded a video of the audio of up on the house top playing to capture the moment, occasionally the mirrors will also fog up on their own and reveal hand prints and occasionally small drawings like a bird or trees
There's also just very bad vibes in general, theres an awful atmosphere and very strange noises coming from the walls, though I imagine some of this can be chalked up to old wiring and piping from the 90s barely keeping everything together, the other stuff is all very surreal to me

Maybe you can talk to some upper management person about painting the tunnels to look more vibrant since it can boost morale or some shit.

The lines of theme parks are super huge liminal spaces, especially The Kraken ride at sea world. This is due to the repeated riding of the ride, repeat trips through the line, some taking HOURS, where you and tons of kids and people stand in the same spot in a line for 20 minutes ALL THE WAY DOWN THE LINE FOR AN HOUR AND 45 minutes, then, other times, those same people run right by the spot they stared at a wall for 20 minutes and glance at it quickly, not barely a thought about it.

The Kraken is a particularly extreme version of this, as it is, or was for a long time, the only fun and fast rollercoaster in sea world, so everyone goes to ride it, and they change the line egregore (related to mall egregores, which have not been revealed/ loosed yet) for hours and hours, but the park also is most often among all to be VERY EMPTY, depending on the season, time of day, etc, and during these times the wait is like 5-15 minutes and you can run laps around the line riding the coaster multiple times.

The combination of this and then going back multiple times, seeing the spot on the wall you’ve stared at for 45 minutes when you were 12 a decade later, it creates a unique liminal event, you can also send echos back and foreward in time to urself like this, but then you’ll get depressed really early.

On top of this line phenomenon, there is the secret back areas that are designed specifically to be hidden and liminal.

Not to burn out the word liminal, but for the greenies, Satan is said to be found at the crossroads, that is the liminal space, this Satan is a Jewish fiction, the idea is the same. Also look into Janus and his face looking foreward and backward, in time, and space, but also, he is the door, the liminal space, he is the year looping, like midnight, the instant between years, between days, the crossroads of time.

This also has to do with “the wilderness” and hermeticism.

(Cont..)

When you go out into the wilderness alone the veil thins for you, the rest of the people nearly don’t exist for you. Things can happen much more easily. This is why hermetic isolation is practiced, you separate from the illusions of the world. Think about how 200 years ago everything was essentially just the forest and wood and rock and metal and plant matter or animal matter, life was much closer to nature, the illusions of the modern day weren’t there, tho they had their own illusions. Now we have so much junk, so much information, look at gen alpha, they can’t even read or do class work cuz they’re so cooked from the quickening of the junk and illusions.
>look mother, how the colors dance upon the screen

Being alone, especially out in wilderness is a magical thing. These backrooms and liminal spaces, haunted houses, back hallways, they are our new wilderness, but they also are not, they are a step beyond, they are our domain, and the spirits are intruding, they’re getting closer, they’re coming.

Tell more stories, the drawings on the mirror sounds like potential ghost activity from probably ritually sacrificed kids.

>>42519034
Busch Gardens is pretty wild, the parrots there know some secrets if you give them the right gift, as do the tiny deer animals that live with the flamingos and kangaroos, and of course, the kookaburra and toucan are wise. Then you’ve got the whole mess with the Gwazi wooden rollercoaster based off a fake mythical animal which is a combination of part lion part tiger, then got shut down and reopened as crocodile themed but is now a combination wooden metal rollercoaster.

Kraken is a one of the main negative forces in the world. I know nothing about theme parks, so this being a very popular ride is very interesting.
Krakens in: pirates of the carribean, stranger things, fifth element, bordelands video game, dark tower, lotr, that anime with the pirates, any face hugger character, the strangers in dark city etc

Just like sporting arenas
And movie theatres

Neat, sorry you had to witness that even if you're the sort to enjoy paranormal experiences. That guy alone might be the source of the ill vibes there. Try talking to them when you're working near 'their' space, you might be surprised how friendly and interactive they can be.

Any other stories, even if they're from coworkers? Any other places of note at Universal?

Threads like these are the most interesting to me, does anyone else have stories where they worked for major theme parks
