i feel like this is the most gatekept thing in existence. in every faith this is a prerequisite to interact with the divine. we know in the torah that to approach Ark of the Covenant you need various things such as clean white clothes, incense, blood and so on. however that is very much the public slave religion meant to pacify, and surely cant be real spirituality. we can make assumptions of what qualifies as mental, spiritual and physical defilements, but how can we be sure of what, how and for how long we qualify?instinctually i imagine fire being part of it, not sure why.

It's a mark of ascendance which unlocks deeper power and truths as ot progresses along the classical elements. All elements must be purified and in alignment, but the easiest come from the simpler and more passive forcesIt starts with the dark elements and moves towards the lightest ones>EarthRenunciation of earthly desires. Seeing through the vanity and emptiness of worldly existence. Causes melancholy but is a necessary pain for growth.>Water: baptismReconciliation for past sins, cleansing your history of past wrongdoings with a new purified framework. Cleaning the spirit so that it is prepared for communion with the divine>AirUnderstanding of the connection of all things through the One. Seeing that Earthly things are not amazing for their own virtues, but by the negative spaces between them in which God dwells. You begin to identify the vital force of the universe in itself, and have ecstatic spiritual experiences.>FireThe process of self-consuming the ego by which to create more negative space for God. Realizing the self is a hindrance in the way of God and renouncing even yourself so that you can be a perfect vessel for God. Your own being becomes the negative space for God, and your passion burns brightly to those around you. This is the "purifying fire" by which sainthood is achieved before death and in which one can truly experience oneness with God.Youll note that the most docile and stable elements come first, while the more extreme elements are felt by most only in temporary, extreme states because of how volatile they are. The fulfillment of air is the general state a human can actually live in, but they can experience temporary moments of the fulfillment of fire. Are the beatific vision before death, we can have fulfillment of fire and truly understand all wisdom. This is why death is required for resurrection in God.
>>42521621Forgot to expoundThe elements are articulations along the hierarchy of virtuesEarth = opaque and absorbs Light = material existenceWater = Opaque and reflects Light = vital movement. Sin exists within our actions, after allAir = Clear and allows all Light to pass through = Divine wisdom. Does not destroy the knowledge God bequeaths but simply allows it to pass through. This is the stage of revelation which Thomas Aquinas called "straw". It is beautiful and sublime but also formless and ephemeral.Fire = Allows Light to come from within itself = Divine Love and passion.

>>42521634Sorry expounding upon spirit is ecstatic as i said so I wanted to share a quote from the bible where Jesus clearly explains this belief>Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”We need life to have spiritual life, i.e. We are born of the water and then of the spirit. Then later, the Holy Spirit descends in fire when the Apostles are ready for the full embodiment of revelation and have reached spiritual maturity. This is also why demons can exist as evil beings with perfect reason. Since they lack bodies, they cannot build upon a solid foundation and this is why they resent humanity so deeply. They were born from the divine descension and can thus only truly comprehend those things below them, while humanity exists in divine ascension and was redeemed through mercy towards a capacity beyond even angelification. For a metaphor, plants can exist to bring inanimate matter into a living being, but the animals which are also alive consume them without transcending their nature. This is why many Saints become vegetarians, and why Demons consume things mortal virtues to extend their own existence. (Heresy warning, don't think about this one for too long unless you are extremely well prepared, because what I'm saying needs to be interpreted over a long time.) This is why God was able to exist fully as a man through Jesus but not fully as an Angel through the Father. The descension provides hiddenness and the redemption provides revelation. It is also why Satan is such a hateful little bitch. He cannot become one with God despite being so tantalizingly close.

>>42519810At a certain level of devotion, forgetting to enact such purity is seen as more pure than any cleanliness.>SB 10.29.5: Some of the gopīs were milking cows when they heard Kṛṣṇa's flute. They stopped milking and went off to meet Him. Some left milk curdling on the stove, and others left cakes burning in the oven.>SB 10.29.6-7: Some of them were getting dressed, feeding milk to their infants or rendering personal service to their husbands, but they all gave up these duties and went to meet Kṛṣṇa. Other gopīs were taking their evening meals, washing themselves, putting on cosmetics or applying kajjala to their eyes. But all the gopīs stopped these activities at once and, though their clothes and ornaments were in complete disarray, rushed off to Kṛṣṇa.

>>42519810>instinctually i imagine fire being part of it, not sure why.I find purification to involve water. I find my regular purification baths to be the most effective spiritual practice I do.
