Hey, /x/. I have a question regarding a possible ghost in my house. I ran into a few instances where I think I saw or felt a presence. Here's one that a few people who stayed over shared with me before I ever mentioned anything to them.

>lie in bed
>no cats or dogs in room
>feel pressure on side of bed, usually pillow next to me or right below it
>almost feels like an animal's paw getting on the bed
>get up, can't see shit so can't see imprint but definitely don't see or hear any animals in room

>someone dog sits for me while i'm away
>every now and then my dog will stare at the dark hallway, growling for a few minutes then stopping
>it is always in the area right where my bible is under the tv
>no cameras set up (might get one now that i am typing all this out) so we can't see anything
>same area also has shadow figures walking/running down the hall (i never saw this, others say they do)

Here is one that I'm skeptical about since I was half asleep but still aware of what was happening

>late 2025
>be me, sleeping next to bf
>something wakes me up at 6 AM on my off day
>sit up really fast, normally never do this but my body just did it anyways
>look where bf is, still sleeping
>see tall shadowy figure with long hair, two white dots for eyes, and a wide creepypasta-tier grin that was pretty funny desu
>just stare at it intrigued, not sure else how to explain it but i was not scared at the time (the smile did not help at all)
>it's still there, can notice it breathing
>few seconds go by
>blink twice
>still there, same position and all, don't feel scared but just confused as to what it's even trying to do
>rub my eyes for third blink
>shadow figure is gone, two white dots float away and eventually fade
>now scared and 100% awake

Anyone know what kind of thing this is? I don't feel any hatred in my house, but I also don't feel peace since I live in a shitty area with crime rate. Nobody died in the house that I know of, I bought it 3 years ago and only started noticing this last year.

Normies would call that a hypnopompic hallucination, but personally I tend to think the things that are “our malfunctioning brains” are more often than not real entities, though I couldn’t tell you about that one in particular.

Had you taken in any objects or ornaments prior to the first known incident? Another thought is I have heard of people living in a property for some time before anything begins, something to do with becoming more emotionally attached and relaxed with the place. Probably worth digging into the history of the place. Good luck with it all.

No, but the activity did enhance once I got a small jewelery chest. My boyfriend thinks it was that so he gave it to his already schizophrenic mom (lmao). I just wanna know what kind of spirit it might be.

If it's not messing with you then don't fret. I get it can be disconcerting to have something that doesn't belong in your home though. Research as much as you can with information you have, and hopefully someone more knowledgeable on /x/ swings by this weekend.
