It fells like majority of people think that 2000s was the "best" decade whether is it gen z millennials hell even boomers but why. Did they forgot hellhole of post 9/11 and war on terror ,sars outbreak ,increase in mass surveillance and great recession
it was the last decade, not the bestnow time has stopped
Goldfish syndrome
>>42570994The 90’s was the end of the good times in western society Y2K unironically was everyone getting uploaded to this shitty simulation
Bionicle, PS2, Xbox 360, old internet, Halo, stuff like that
it was not the "best decade". It was just comparatively better than the last two.At the time, it already seemed lame compared to the 80's and 90's.
Oh yeah the 2000s when you could read about how the elites had satanic rituals, 9/11 was a inside job etc etc and you could think "that's insane man"Right now if you read about how the elites rape childrens the only thing you can do is say "Yeah that's true"
because it's when DVRs came out and other flashy modern techno bread and circuses started flooding their stupid little hylic world, that's all their kind cares about, buying an uber eats pizza and craft beer through their shitphone while "chilling" (sic) with Friends DVDs on the 90" plasma TV
>>42570994Nobody says that retard, just that it was the last decade before everything went shit or started going to shit (smart phones, social media, obama, etc.)

>>42570994that was the height of the internet.before they started manufacturing ways to get it back under control.
>>42570994Every decade has challenges but in the early 2k's:>Even the boomers were in high spirits>Higher amounts of social cohesion >Gas was .89 cents a gallon>The daily grind was pleasant and optimism was highOlder folks still yapped about the 80's being the best times though, after the ball-eating 70's crunched their dreams. Then the events you mentioned happened, and the scene polarized and spiralled quickly. The rise of surveillance and tach in general caused the most separation imo, then waves of distrust and contempt followed causing social life to become bickering and balkanization, which lead to tribal breakdown even within tight groups. Fear was the big hammer. The great recession exasperated the socioeconomic angle, making class concerns irreparable. Those with money carried on with blessings, those without money retreated into new tech distractions and were left behind. The spirit of the people followed the fault lines. Politics proved ineffective to remedy the problems, as both sides just adapted their grifts to the new conditions, and people downstream followed the example. Politically correct ideology rose to fill the gaps as the new religion.Total bummer.
>>42570994I have some great 00's memories that I treasure. But I'll admit that at the time we definitely felt like we were living in the ruins of the 90's. I suspect that the Columbine/9-11 double-ender marked that we were shifting to a worse parallel dimension. The Great Recession really sucked donkey dicks too. If you were a Millennial your teachers told you to expect a great future where most people worked cushy office jobs. I remember my mom's best friend telling me I was too smart to be a firefighter. But then suddenly my friends had college degrees and could only find jobs at Best Buy and the media started blasting us for being entitled. Even today a lot of this shit doesn't feel fully real. Like I half-expect to wake up in the 90's and realize this was a weird nightmare.
>>42570994and my mother absolutely destroyed my life growing up in the 2000s. its hard to even say i had a childhood. hell on earth.
>>42570994it peaked in like 2008>9/11 and war on terror ,sars outbreak ,increase in mass surveillancenobody actually cared they just circlejerked about it after watching The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and moved on
>>42574359>...and the media started blasting us for being entitled. They sure did and culture followed the narrative. While it was true that so many lacked experience and years in the field, it was awkward to pour cement and cut trees with degree holding people. Especially when they were outright TOLD that they wouldn't have to after their time in education. Total bait and switch. The other side of that was tensions rising because those blue collar jobs were now being chased by overly qualified people, pushing the less educated further behind. It was ugly.
>>42570994>It fells like majority of people think that 2000s was the "best" decade whether is it gen z millennials hell even boomers but whywhat are you babbling about ? source ?schizos on /x/ always starting their threads with their 'unique' interpretations of reality as premise. while i always just stop reading then and there
>>42570994There’s always a nostalgia for twenty years back. People who remember it fondly start getting into positions and writing works set in it, people who don’t see those people waxing nostalgic. It’s a 20 year cycle and has been going on since the 70’s pined for the 50’s.
>>4257099410 years ago everyone though the 1990s were the best decade. Funny how that works.
>>4257653790’s were the best
>>42570994Mid to late 90s was kino. Early 2000s was also pretty good. 2006 is when things started to get fucked up. It all started with January 19th, when NASA started to fuck with Pluto.
>>42570994For me it's the 90s. TV was so white and straight back then.
