Thank you, I suspected that. However, there is something awkward about the entire situation. I am a university student (I took a long break before coming back into studying), and for my career I want to become a historian so I want to go on to do a phd. The most sensible thing to do would be to work in a bar, bookshop, cafe, temp job etc. and I don’t even have very good experience to be honest.

But the universe/whatever doesn’t seem want me to do that, it wants me to work on my aspirations, but I already am working on my aspirations in my studying so trying to work for a career that aligns with my aspirations outside of studying just seems like a massive convoluted waste of time. When my ex broke up with me she said she wanted me to have a proper job, not something like bar work etc. but I genuinely think that is what’s best for me right now because anything else would be too distracting for my studies (and I wouldn’t be able to get hired anyway, lets be realistic). Best thing I could do was volunteer in research, but I really can’t focus on that right now because my studies are more important.
